The most popular rappers in the game are around my age. Young rappers are not running Hip Hop.

Jay 43
Em 39
NaS 39
Ross 35
Ye 35
T.I. 32
Jezzy 35
2Chainz 36
Wayne 29 (about to be 30 this month)
Nicki 29 (About to be 30)

Now when I was coming up, 20 year old emcees ran Hip Hop. The game has changed. Drake and Sean are probably the two youngest doing it and they are pushing 30 also since they are in mid-20's.
elitism is a horrible thing

Drake is 25 and Big Sean is 24.

Drake will be 26 in Oct and Sean 25 in March. My point was and still remains, The most popular rappers are in the 30's. It wasn't like that in Hip Hop back in the 1980's and 1990's. Pac died at 25 and Big 24 but they'd be in their 40's today. It was more youth driven. Rap has grown up and things have change. The Youth does not dictate rap on the level it use to cause rappers like Jay, NaS, Em are still selling even though they are getting up there in age. Back in the day once a rapper got in his late 30's into 40's that was pretty much it. Now it has changed. Rap has grown up.

elitism is a horrible thing

Has nothing to do with being a rap elitist. Nobody said everything from this era is Trash, but a lot of it is. The lower teir rap albums from X's time are better than a lot of albums today. I like my Hip Hop quality. Not that crap people call rapping today. Rappers aren't even rhyming anymore. They just talking on records. NaS said "RAP SUCKS" and put that on his album cover but called it "Hip Hop is Dead". Is he an Elitist? NO he's someone from the REAL era that saw Rap was trash. 6 years later, he was so ahead of his time.

Every cotdam inch of GA..except the racist parts
call it what you want but drake is talented...no denying that....however, with that being said Drake isn't as big as DMX was.......me personally i think 98 is the year that saved hiphop/rap in general, and X was at the forefront of it....him and Jigga were neck and neck. This dude X had 2 MULTI-plat albums IN THE SAME YEAR. Too bad X let the drugs get the best of him. What X fails to realize is that this generation has more artists who grew up not having to go through the same struggle he went through, so the topics are gonna be different. Jay-z understood that, thats why he's still relevant in a sense.

Personally, i haven't liked the albums X dropped after his 4th one, but this man has earned the stripes to say what the fukk he wants to say without anyone questioning his statements.......if he was sober and not geeked up no one would be even 2nd guessing his statements

If only one could live and I had to choose between DMX or Drake in terms of discography/music I'd def pick DMX, no thought required.

HOWEVER he needs to shut the fukk up. If he doesn't like Drake then he doesn't. ALOT of people do. And he isn't supposed to get the new generation because they sure as fukk dont get him. Ol bitter ass crack head.

the thing that i respect about dmx that i DON'T respect about drake is that dmx pretty much worked his way to where he's at. drake had it HANDED to him. i don't appreciate people like drake who basically brought their way into the rap sh!t basically trying to disrespect the people that fought tooth and nail to be heard talking about he's the best that did it. well, if that was the case, how did you buy your way to a deal? you used your fame from wheelchair jimmy and whatever cash you had to get your ass heard with the help of people within the industry. :laff: you didn't work for it. dmx basically was putting out tapes, battling dudes, and basically had to bust his ass to get where he was at. i just think it's funny how drake talks about how much he worked for it. yeah, right.

you even have him now trying to buy his way into aaliyah's catalog so basically doing whatever HE wants to do with her sh!t without even letting the people that aaliyah rolled with in on it. that's just disrespectful to aaliyah. this is why i don't respect drake. dude is extra cocky for someone who never worked his way to where he's at compared to people his boss wayne, jay-z, dmx, and etc. that's why i don't f*ck with a lot of these new rappers. they really never put in the work like a lot of these rappers back in the day have where you can't do anything BUT feel happy for them. can't do the same thing for someone like drake.

i don't like drake's music either. i think he's greatly overrated and once again, he paid his way to his deal to put out that wack sh!t. dude needs to stop fronting.

X looks like he is on his last legs :weirdo:  . He can't form a full sentence anymore. Whoever said that Crack got the best of him is right on the money.

After a certain point on being addicted to hard drugs, its pretty much RIP. X been addicted on them shyts since 1984!

But if he is right on one thing, don't contaminate Hip Hop on what it is.

So you like change when it only benefits you and your taste...gotcha. So rap is all about being "real" to some caricature of a stereotype and living it up to the fullest extent. Rap to me is about freedom of expression, regardless if I like it or not.

I don't like Drake's simping, but there is more to the generation than him. What about Kendrick, J Cole, and Lu? Expand your horizons.

What's sadder than X twitching and jerking like a seizure victim in the rain, is watching y'all weirdo crybabies jump up and try and stick up for his blatant hate just because you're haters yourselves.

Let's face it, this is about old heads not being able to be a part of the meal. You're gonna get mad at the tastes of an entire generation? Maybe you're outdated. What happened to "don't like it, pay it no mind". That's something you teach an 8 yr. old and you have sad man X unable to learn.
