That's the only thing that does work. If you check any addiction program, the most important thing for an addict is to have a good support system. People that are not only there to catch them when they slip, but also there to hold them accountable for their actions. You leave an addict to his own vices he will continue to be an addict.
And at the second bolded why not? He didn't give his kid an ultimatum in order to earn his love, so why is it ok for his kid to do it to him?
It was actually his son and ole girl with the "sneak bully move" if he is really working on himself like he says he is, then it's all kinds of sheisty for them to trick him and corner him like this and get him all emotional opening up his feelings just to give him an ultimatum.
So what? She tricked him to get him there. And when he began to open up about his problems with women. She told him his answers was bullshyt, and blamed it on the drugs. How does she know what his problems stem from?i guess you missed the part about her basically saying that x's problem with women is only a symptom to a bigger problem of his which is why she turned it into a thing where she's trying to work on him as a person, which makes sense. hint, the reason why she brought up his issues of abandonment and why she asked him why is he holding on to grief. she was trying to make him look at his experiences from a standpoint where it would make him stronger and not use that as an excuse to do what he's doing. her bringing up him using drugs is a part of him trying to change his behavior.
How can a therapist ask you to open up about your problems, then when you do it she tells you "

She wanted her show to be about crazy crackhead DMX, she purposely drove the conversation that way, and she got the ratings she was looking for. I just think its a shame his son was naive enough to allow her to use him for that goal.
Dude has problems. Everybody knows that, which is why she should have actually tried to help him, or just left him alone.
to me, i think the problem with you and a lot of these folks is that you actually want to see a man down. you have to be a sick person to enjoy seeing someone literally killing themselves and then say "it's okay".
who said I want to see him down, or that his drug use is ok? I said they should have actually tried to help him, instead of exploiting his faults for their own personal gain.

I feel u..X aint without his fault..his son is right..but son...not even a phone call?..she told his son not to hug him?..shyt like that...was UNPROFESSIONAL. ..she shouldve let them hash it out..I understand where the son is coming from..but u dont have to abandon ur pops to try to make him change...unless he's pushing him away...x prolly dont got no family on his side..everyone has abandoned him since he's been a child...literally like 8 years old...homeless...thats his MAIN issue...u dont use that as a TOOL to get him clean..u show him that ur gonna be there for him...a dude like X..sickness or not...would prolly RIDE in his sons corner if he had issues...and X is not feelin that kinda unconditional love back...I feel for the kid..they needed a different therapist tho...cause the kid seems confused..and X has major issues...all the therapist did was make shyt worse...aint no making an addict get better..they have to want to...but atleast show that he can reach out to u and get ur support..tellin him "fukk outta here till u get clean" aint gonna work out...he may wake up one day and find out his father is dead...how would that make him feel if he knows he didnt even ATTEMPT to be in his corner..X really needs to get his shyt together tho..he has the typical selfish addict mentality as well...

you obviously haven't. a therapist job is to help you help yourself because you don't know how. not all the time a therapist is going to be right BUT i see what she was getting at. dmx doesn't want to HELP himself. he knows what he has to do BUT he doesn't want to. it's easy for him to give up and blame. i can relate to x on having a mental issue. you have to learn how to live with it as fukked up as it is. at the end of the day, it's HIS responsibility to take care of himself and it's NOBODY's responsibility to do that. stop pushing this stupid idea on him giving up on himself being the fault of the people around him and the therapist. that's why his ass is in the situation that he is in right now. he is rejecting help and is like "i don't give a fukk. this is who i am." and he knows that it's not which is why his ass is running on shows begging for help.
it's hard to take responsibility and it's even harder when you have serious issues such as drug addiction and mental illness BUT @ the end of the day, nobody but HIM is suffering. what's sad is that people such as yourself don't understand that this persona that he's running with dark man x is also killing him.
