It's a case that has merit. Tyler and Khaled are both with Sony so they won at the end of the day, yet they made no effort to guarantee that all of his sales were counted towards the total like Tyler's was.

It's right there in the article why Billboard didn't count it. Khalid probably tried to cook the books while Tyler didn't.

The Internet says sales and awards don't matter when they clearly do to the artists. Same reason that Nicki had her public spat with Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner for them manipulating their sales with their various bundle deals. It impacts what leverage and negotiating power you have with the label when it comes to contracts and projects.
