I'm still playing this. my characters are at lvl 12. the game can definitely be overwhelming in the beginning, but shyt is crack once you figure it out. like a few people have said in this thread, just try to avoid enemies that are above your level. you can kinda use that to figure out where you should be going next

I don't use Steam a lot, so what's workshop support?
the Steam workshop is for mods and other 'user created content'. it makes it very easy to install and use that stuff. I imagine the drm-free version also supports mods, but the Steam workshop makes it real easy

yep, easier enemies to the west, but probably don't go out there until you're at least level 3-4
Maaaaan you damn near got my head taken off by orcs!!! LMAO. I got to around level 3 and headed west....due west toward the beach and there were level 6 orcs out there waiting on me. So I ran away and went back to town. I went out of the Northwest side of the town and thats were those lower level 3 undead were hanging out. It is a significant difference and I'm not just being picky or anything. So if anyone else plays the game later on and see this note, remember that difference. Great game so far. I'm glad I came across this thread because I had a few games ahead of this one and I wouldn't have skipped it ahead of the line if it wasn't for the push from in here.

I love that the map is open to you and the devs don't close you off behind barriers and hold your hand because you aren't the proper level. If you run into a spot where the enemies are too tough, then that's on you. I also like how you can use weapons that are higher level than you are but you get a negative penalty for it. That was something I wanted to see implemented in more RPG games. I wanted to play a game where you can go anywhere at your own detriment and yeah, maybe you luck up and find that level 30 weapon while you are level 6, and yeah you can equip it and use it, but you won't get the added bonus or the weapon will be too heavy for you and tire you out quickly. That doesn't happen to that extent in this game, but they are on the right track. I like to know when developers are thinking like I am. It's hard to believe that this is a Kickstarter game.

Speaking of which, Star Citizen is also a Kickstarter game and that game has grown in funding upwards of 50 million bucks. Divinity gives me so much hope for the quality of Star Citizen.......which just adds another feather to Divinity's cap in my book.

update today added two new companions

The Bear and the Burglar adds 2 new optional characters to your party: the rogue Wolgraff and the ranger Bairdotr. Uncover the mysteries of their pasts and determine their futures!

Wolgraff
*Wolgraff gives you a knowing look. He seems to think the mayor is a few arrows short of a quiver.*
Dark Sourcery deprived Wolgraff of his voice when he was but a kid, and with it his dream of becoming a Source Hunter. Refused by the Order, he grew up to become a rogue, stealing from the rich and giving to... just himself actually. His is a world of silence, but if need be he lets his dagger do the talking for him.

Bairdotr
"You seem strong as mother, though your chest is not quite so hairy. Your sword may come in handy when we find who I seek." Armed with her bow on her back and her claws at the ready, Bairdotr refuses to fail: She must navigate your world-- a world of wonder and mysteries both fantastic and terrible-- if she's to save Homeforest. The druid of the forest has been kidnapped, and Bairdotr must follow a scant trail of clues if she's to bring him back-- clues that take her to the very heart of Rivellon's Source conspiracy.

At the end he mentions Wasteland 2. I looked at my Steam account and that was a game I'd added to my wishlist way back in February. It was in early access mode at the time and I didn't mess with it because I just don't believe in paying for games that are incomplete, but it seems that it's out now. Because of Divinity I will probably be moving wasteland up in my "to do" list. I remember when I first saw Wasteland 2 trailers, I immediately thought of the old Fallout games and after a little googleing I found out why. The Fallout games were inspired by Wasteland.

I'll probably jump back into Divinity for the DLC. I was planning on doing a second play through of the game and have a rogue character the second time but I may just wait for the DLC. Good time to be an RPG fan.

I'm also interested in Wasteland 2. but I really don't have time for it now (too many gamez), so I figure I'll probably wait for a sale

I completely feel ya on that. I'm the same way. Divinity's brilliance has me rethinking my Fall though. My plan was to get in a few games before Dragon Age and Farcry dropped but it looks like I'll be on Wasteland and maybe one other game before those come out.
