So basically your argument is people should have fewer options on how to consume content because you want to lock everyone into the same viewing schedule so you can focus a discussion on individual episodes?Binging sucks. With the exception of a few shows, episodes are meant to be separated. There is an art to writing an episode that disappears when everything is watched so close together.
I enjoy the conversation around shows, which becomes nearly impossible to participate in when everyone is watching at their own pace.
Except spoilers tend to ruin that. It's difficult to actively avoid people talking about plot points like that. It's like the people that waited for Avengers Endgame or Infinity War on home video. After the movies came out plot points were just openly discussed without a care in the world. Memes were made and put out in the open. You goofs on the "lemme watch when I wanna watch" train just need to tell yourself the premier date is 2 months after it really is. Problem fixed.

The real problem with "the discussion" is it just spoils stuff for people that prefer to watch shows in chunks instead of week to week. As soon as an episode airs if you don't watch it spoilers are everywhere.
If you want to watch week to week you can do that just like some of us wait till the season is over and watch it mostly at once like we prefer.
Disney is doing this to hold subs long term. If they did it like Netflix they'd have to deal with more seasonal subs based on when a show was all released.
Wait, how is week to week LESS spoiler averse? If you didn't binge a new show on the first weekend you have to be cautious about any discussion around it lol.
This is true but I think I'm more likely to be spoiled if it's a week to week show because there is that "water cooler" in the moment discussion about it whereas when a show is Binged people are talking about it but at their own leisure. So the discussion is spread out rather than "y'all see thrones last night! "
I see both sides of it.
I get that too. But that's an easier question to answer than, "have you seen [this part] of the new Stranger Things?"
Regardless, spoilers are a minor issue for either format, imo. Artistically speaking, I greatly prefer to space shows out and let episodes sit with you for a while. The entire structure of episodic storytelling falls apart when 4 or 5 are watched consecutively.
I think some shows are meant to be watched week to week because there's so much detail or theory aspects... like True Detective I love the theories and the cliffhanger shyt that goes on, I think it's meant to be consumed week to week.
However, I think some shows are better binged especially if it's a slow burn. Some of these slow burns I'd have given up on after a week or two but with them all being available I'm more likely to give it another episode to hook me
Any word if they are putting their 80’s/90’s cartoons on there ? I need my Rebecca Cunninghamm fix.
my guy they using laser guns and shyt. No blood will be shown. It'll be pg-13 like every star wars flick. The Mandalorian looks kinda violent...
