That excerpt doesn't even imply this. 4 is still the most successful entry after the 1st one, and it was only on PS at the time. Five found success on the Switch in the US and EU but it wouldn't have become one of the higher selling entries without its PS4 release, which still sold well itself. And 6 released on the PS in Japan.

damn triangle strategy got me in the mood for more strategy rpgs but realized this doesn't come to ps4/ps5 until the end of June.

Downloaded the demo of this and im glad i didn’t do my usual impulsive shyt of just going and paying full price for it.

The graphics modes are terrible, performance is jaggy as hell and graphics mode is like 12 fps. Also, i can wait a few more months before playing another Disgaea game. Might even just wait for it to be on sale on playstation.
