This dude must be a Clowes fan. I googled Ari Aster Clowes and low and behold "Clowes’s humour and worldview were so indelible to me growing up. I wanted to make films that felt like
Eightball."
One of the strangest films I've seen, but it works. Aster is three for three IMO. Oh, and he definitely has mummy issues.
