Social equality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

American society needs to change in order for American culture to change. That's it. All this extra shyt you are trying to attribute to that statement is nonsense. In fact you're entire argument hinges on assumptions and strawmen that you created.

the majority of american society is white, that isnt a strawman, that is just a fact and its also a fact that you do not see anyway black people can improve unless white people improve

nobody is putting words in your mouth, its just now that you have been confronted with the meaning of your words you are trying to fall back

Ok I'm done. If you are going to respond to the imaginary person in your head, then there is no point in continuing this discussion. Not once did you quote one of my posts and actually respond to the words that were actually there.

Your entire argument is against a strawman. You say your against the idea that civil rights is an economic plan. Well i've never heard ANYONE make that claim. The first time I heard it is when you said it, just so you can oppose it.

im not putting words in your mouth, you said plenty of times in the education threads that black culture could not improve until you improve american culture, american culture is majority white, so i am not putting words in your mouth by saying that you are saying that black culture will not improve until white culture improves

maybe you didint understand the import of your words but that is your problem not mines, i am not lying and im not putting words in your mouth

i said that people conflate civil rights with an economic plan, that was an observation, that wasnt my argument

my argument is that the culture and actions of black people are more important to the future of black people than the culture and actions of white people

and that is why i dont have a problem with what dinesh said because its basically the same thing ive been saying

:comeon: who denied this?

You motherfukker.

You keep saying that society in a whole has to be "equal" before black people can get a chance, yet you agree that the actions that black people take are the only ones that can help them. You talk in circles EVERYTIME about this topic. You and everyone that thinks like you can keep on waiting for white people to improve the lives of black people if you want and the gap will keep increasing.

(sorry for cursing)

Find a post with me saying that society needs to change before black people can "get a chance" please find it.

It's not talking in circles you idiots act as if a person can only address one thing. No amount of personal reponsibilty will bring about equality and no amount of equality will bring about personal responsibility. They are totaly different issues, and both need to be addressed.

You ignored my question last time. If black people shouldn't be fighting for equality then what should we be fighting for? The goverment is here to stay and currently it affects most black people's lives in a negative way. Why not fight for that to change?

that is the point that dinesh was making and you and rapbeats spent 20 pages denying it and you spent 20 pages in the education threads saying black education cannot improve until mainstream culture, which is majority white, improves

Still can't respond to the words in my posts I see. I'll ask again.

Who said that the culture and actions of white people are more important to the future of black people than the culture and actions of black people?

I think it's one thing to fight for equality and another to pretend that you can't get ahead because inequality exists. When you argue this topic, you make it seem like black people can't be shyt because they are not equal when I think that's far from true. I personally think that blacks as a whole have enough resources available to them to be successful. I think it's a matter of asking "What can I do with less?" rather than "Why don't I have more?"

That's something y'all made up, not me. In fact in my first post on this topic yesterday, the first thing I said was that individual success is very attainable for black people, regardless of inequality. And theoretically yes blacks have the resources to be successful. But reality dictates that a lot of black people don't make it to those resources. Some of this is personal responsibility, and some of it is society. Again both issues need to be addressed
