Dilla was/is your favorite producer's producer.
His influence spans many genres.

I consider him an influential producer because of the way he bridged so many gaps musically so effortlessly.
I didn't think about it until the first time I visited the city of Detroit in 2007.
Detroit is one of the rich cultural gems of the American landscape that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
In Dilla's productions, you hear motown, you hear the sounds of Detroit Techno, you hear the hip-hop, you hear the sounds of what innovations have come from that city.
What other producer samples the Carpenters, Daft Punk, Don Blackman, and Kraftwerk?
There's a reason why Dilla is so respected and his influence grows every year.
