CDs were compatible with cassettes while serving as an upgrade.

completely different dynamic.

the internet popped off over 25 years ago.

you yourself just stated that you already cant find something thats only been out half as long.

either youre contradicting yourself or you two have a beef that i dont know about.:ehh:
25 years ago but not everyone in Philly had a computer/internet in the early 2000s when I was coming up.

shyt do some research people still don't even have internet access.

people tend to get caught up in their own perspectives as the be all/end all.

the internet gets bigger & bigger everyday. 5 years from now, people who didnt have internet access in 2021, will be saying that the internet didnt pop off until 2024 or some chit.

the bottom line is that whether you had internet access or not, its been a big deal since the mid-90s.

If you buy a CD in 2021, I’m looking at you crazy. I don’t care how old you are.. adapt to modern technology my g

shyt is like buying a vhs in 2005 when DVD’s were obviously the new normal

My whip ain’t even got a disk drive. shyt is a dead technology

Depending on the type of music you buy, it might not be a bad idea...

Lot of these streaming sites are taking down songs due to samples not being properly cleared etc...

Its fukked up when you vibing to an album and you expect to hear a certain song somewhere and it's not there...

I remember streaming that Jim Jones America gangster mixtape and hearing Sen city instead of max b:beli:

That USB CD burner might come in handy

So Cal
It’s not a reach and it’s not ONLY about physical media. It’s even digital. They make it harder to buy digital than it used to be as well. U gotta go thru more hoops than with streaming. And like I said. Older people don’t even LISTEN to music as much as the younger gen. But they still can love the artist and wanna support. But now they gotta listen to the fukking songs 20 million times for their fav artist to “sell” records. It’s a disconnect in how the music is consumed. And believe it or not. I deal with helping people with tech everyday. ALOT of older people don’t truly know how to use their phones let alone fukk with all the apps n shyt like that. They would rather the shyt just be simple and purchase a physical copy. Digital will NEVER sound better than physical as well. I’m saying this as someone who deals with tech as a living and I fukking build computers for Christ sakes. I prolly know more about tech than everyone in this thread. I been streaming music since before it was the cool thing to do. I had a fukkin ZUNE fam. Streaming music back then. But I’m smart enough to know the limitations of streaming music. I always make sure I have either a permanent digital copy or a permanent physical copy stashed away for any music I really appreciate. Whether it’s on some external drives or whatever. Cause streaming done fukked me over with music plenty of times over the years.
You can buy digital music on Amazon with a simple search. It's not hard, breh.

i used to make money burning CDs too. whats your point??

the world is bigger than your immediate peers. hell, philly is bigger than that. people were swiping free startup AOL discs out of magazines in stores around the city, all the way back to the '90s.

Son I have music that u can’t even find on the net. I promise u that. shyt. If u are an Aaliyah or De La Soul fan. U fukked. That’s goes for other artists too who went thru label issues. Clearance issues. Music people forgot about.

Yep. And this isn't even limited to music. I was trying to find The Mack the other day and apparently it's not streaming on any of the apps as far as I could tell. Just says: This video is currently unavailable.

well for starters, it sounds like youre not really into music LIKE THAT. and youre basing your argument too much around yourself.

theres alot of music that people downloaded heavy 15 years ago, that they cant even find anymore.
take for instance the recent thread about philly dvd rappers. people that didnt have access to the physical copies and followed them thru stuff like datpiff, are clamoring for alot of the music now

see, this is where we have a disconnect

There is no argument here. I don’t know why ya’ll want everything to be some great debate.

I simply stated that I don’t need to possess music to enjoy it. I. ME. Larry Legend.

If you do, that’s fire. Do your thing. I didn’t say you were wrong for doing so and I was somehow in the right. Do you fam.

For ME, it’s a dead technology that has no real benefit for MYSELF, outside of the collecting aspect. I think it’s CRAZY that there’s still a market for it. For you that may differ, I respect that. I’m just giving MY perspective. Lol

You can downloaded music from anywhere then add to apple music and then listen to it like any other song they have.
