My two cents here:

Valdano was voted the best foreign player in Spain in 1986. At the time teams couldn't have more 3 foreigners though.

Also Nantes in the 80s had a very good team won the league 2 twice and finished 2nd in '86

You could also add Passarella to that list and not to mention the coach Bilardo as well.

That being said Maradona was definitely the one that allowed them to dream but that squad was not that bad.

One good season when Burruchaga was there and that was his first season and he was joining a team that had already finished 2nd the previous season.
