George Best too (Who, incidentally, died on this day 15 years ago.)

The war had officially ended 4 years prior.

The legacy at the time of the match between Argentina and England was still kinda raw, however.
Brother, as of 2 years ago (2017) there was still high tension on the matter.

Argentina seeks better British ties but Falklands claim remains

Argentina out there trying to procure used jet fighters from France in preparation while England trying to ramp up their testing of the queen elizabeth carrier in order to receive the F-35s they purchase from the US so they could be deployed there as a deterrent. Tension has been high in Argentina for them to again reclaim the islands while the island inhabitants themselves for the most part rather stay under British rule. fukking sellouts.

One thing I keep in touch with it's world defense news.

Read the article below and you'll see they are still arming themselves in preparation for a conflict

F-X2: Brazils Saab Contract for Gripens a Done Deal

Nov 9/14: Argentina. Argentina may want to do a deal with Brazil (q.v. Oct 22/14), but Britain has now publicly said “no.” To be more precise, they reiterate the continued existence of a ban. A spokesperson for the UK Department of Business, Innovation and Skills:

“We are determined to ensure that no British-licensable exports or trade have the potential to be used by Argentina to impose an economic blockade on the Falkland Islanders or inhibit their legitimate rights to develop their own economy…

About 30% of the JAS-39E/F will be British, from the ejection seats to the radar, landing gear, and a number of electronic systems. Embraer could try to downgrade and substitute, but Argentina lacks the money to finance such an ambitious effort. Now add the fact that a newly-Republican US Senate and House would block export’s of GE’s F414 engines. As knowledgeable observers expected, Argentina will have to look elsewhere. Dude saying he spoke to local police chief in Naples and said they are on high alert because they are afraid people might commit suicide tonight :damn: :to:

Oh that's was beyond any question. I mean, look at what a small team did for him when he showed up on their stadium as the opposite team's coach. And this is with Diego being wrecked for a while.

Wouldn't shock me at all if they have a national holiday named after him (either when he beat England, when he won the WC or when he passed away).

And you just wait until Argentinians release their first commercial for their national team paying homage, shyt is gonna be :to: :wow:
