Marvel stans avoiding this post :mjpls:

Man.... no one avoiding no post.....:aicmon:

but really.... what do you want folks to say? What are you even looking for?:ld:

Look.... barring Mel post some pics of him and some white guys in North Africa hunting black babies/kids and raping black women and killing the men.....

Nobody will truly ever hate Martin Riggs.

All the "coli tough talk" against him is that (and always been) "faux anger"........ Not even a matter of Comic Book stan shyt:aicmon:

So again.... there is really nothing to comment on:yeshrug:

If Mel does get the job, good luck to him then:manny:

The fact these studios still trying to play it safe is very annoying. I get it with Marvel and their kiddie flavor films but it's time for some real shyt.

Agreed. While I like the Marvel jawns, they definitely have more of a "play it safe" and "don't get too grimy" angle to their movies. Nothing wrong with different flavors of these films. I don't want all my comic book movies being Disneytized.

LOL... again.... I feel we shouldnt have to continue to beat a dead horse with this. If you go back to the source material of everything..... really how grimy was Spiderman, Iron Man and etc in the comics? Dont recall say Spidey spewing off 4 letter words, violently killing street thugs, and fukking bytches on the side of the Empire State building. You really cant get mad of Marvel for not being something they never were, they staying in they lane.

Hell if cats really wanted grimy.... where the fukk yall when Marvel gave us Punisher Warzone and why didnt that get more love. Even if persay yall didnt love that movie, at worst the message to Marvel shouldve been at least "hey maybe we didnt exactly fully get on board with this movie, this is the direction we'd like yall to go. So YES, please more of THIS"

The so called "grimyness" shouldnt be FORCED. If its not in the DNA of origin then dont put it in "just because". Maybe Batman should be grimey.... but Flash shouldnt. Maybe Punisher should be grimey but Spiderman shouldnt.

Its just best to stick to the respective lane and thats not playing it safe, thats just being who they are verses being fake

There's a blatant consistent feel and formula with the MCU movies. There's no denying it.

I laugh when cats mention Carnage and shyt like that in the MCU. He would be nerfed so bad.

Again, the MCU joints aren't bad at all and for the most part are very good. But I can't deny that the more serious and graphic stories of Marvel comics wouldn't be done in this current MCU state.

I'm still surprised, but very thankful, that Mickey gave Netflix the freedom they have in their series.

I mean I wont deny that..... but you grew up with me watching Spiderman, Xmen, Hulk, Ironman, etc cartoons. Werent for what its worth, they were great cartoons and had a consistent feel and formula? Hell even for Superman and Batman? shyt looking back the Marvel cartoons even had the same theme music in some scenes. So it felt natural when you watched Xmen and Spidey would make an appearance or watching Hulk and Ironman or etc makes and appearance and so on. Same with the DC cartoons on an ep where Batman and WW show up in Superman or vice versa.

I do agree that there are more graphic stories but cant you admit a lot of those take place with different characters? Thats why I'm NOT surprised Mickey gave Netflix this freedom. DD to me would be more edgier and violent than say Antman. Punisher is DEFINITELY more grimey than Ironman.

Its about being who they are.

I dont believe that Carnage "wouldnt" work. But I think they would finally have to let Peter grow up and be a man for it to work, we cant have a high school soph PP fighting Carnage and trying to find a suit to the prom and worry about chemistry test and Aunt May's bills.

Again, it shouldnt be grimey for the sake of being grimey. Flash isnt a Grimey show and people love it

I'm not saying to make characters that aren't grimey, I'm speaking more as to the more serious storylines of characters, not the characters themselves.

No way they'd do the "real" Cleedus though, in order to do that story/character justice, it can't be a PG-13 jawn. We'll never get that type of movie which is a shame.

Good God lol you both have points. On one hand, Marvel has a formula for their movies that works and serves characters well. On the other hand there are stories that won't be told or can't be told based on that formula and that's a shame. Making something dark for the sake of being dark is stupid, making something light for the sake of being light is also stupid. The Punisher should be a different tone than Ant Man, but an arc like Maximum Carnage or Demon In A Bottle shouldn't be told if it's not going to be told in an honest fashion. There are drawbacks to each approach and that comes down simply to preference.
