I would go as far as this if women went threw the shyt men went threw plenty of women would be ready to commit that. It many times men go months with out female attention. Some self inflicted due to work or just getting ones life together and sometime just some time away. Men are going with not getting attention but I feel like men are better at self reflection as well. If a man dosent take accountability and responsibility that his ass. In this society today it like it dosent matter if a women does or dosent.
To any man ask the next beautiful women how long can she go without male attention? Listen to the answer you get it will say a lot about that particular women
It is validating to get those constant ego boosts. A lot of us grow accustomed to it. Imagine getting male attention, and people stopping you and telling you, you're pretty since you were 6--so all your life, it's expected that when you go out, heads are gonna turn, men are going to stop and stare, all eyes will be on you, and a few will be bold, help you out, give you discounts, build your ego. And that's not even when your really on point with your outfit and makeup. When your used to men putting you on a pedestal, you get used to getting that attention. The unfortunate thing, for some women, is once they stop getting it.... It's tragic. lol. The crazy thing is that there are women who never ever have any experience with getting that type of attention, so they're secure with their shyt, and used to it. But tbh that's why I always tell men to stop putting us on pedestals and giving us so much attention. Honestly for me it's the ones that are so focused and on top of their shyt, that they don't even notice me that get my attention. I see all other men as weak-- because I see their thirstiness as a weakness. granted it's natural to crave sex and to want it, but never let that be your main focus or a big priority. Those men that are really on their purpose? They don't give that attention, that pedestal, they're too busy doing them. And for some women seeing a man not give them attention, is like a challenge for them. Like damn that man ain't giving me attention like all the others.
For some women it makes them mad, even. But for me, I see it as a discipline, a turn on, a strength. 
If more men weren't so desperate for p*ssy, I'm sure it would change the dynamics a little. Although, I still stand by the fact that women can generally abstain from sex for longer periods of time, without it really affecting them. I can't say if yall can--a lot of yall end up fapping to porn, or getting so desperate that you eliminate standards for sex.
