2018 model 3 (long range). Supercharger costs me about $16 -$17 to fill up. Home charge is like $9. Plus the priceless benefit of not having to stand out in the cold to pump. Car is made out of cheap parts to be honest and has had quality control issues, but hard to go back to gas powered vehicles after this. Hopefully every car company making EV’s is going to give us better choices and force Tesla to improve areas they are lacking.

And your electric bill goes up significantly charging at home

doesn’t that just equal to paying for gas or nah

Tesla brehs chime in

We got Wifey a loaded Model Y late fall of last year. Barely noticed the electric bill change. At the new chargers 30 min fills your car up (you never want to fill the car up). I’ve never paid more than $15 at a supercharger in her car.

I’ve got a gas car because what I want doesn’t come in EV form. But can never imagine our house not having at least 1 electric car. We use it 90% of the time.

and I’ll coop what was said above. Car was put together like shyt if you’re used to higher end stuff in that price range. It’s also a little buggy.

But we are never going back.

Electric cars are trash. A dub for 80% charge and that's at a fast charger. They have different levels of "fast charging" set by the station owner. So it can actually cost you $20 to get 60% charge. Then you have different wallets for different charging networks. That's like needing a different virtual wallet to pump gas at Royal Farms, another for Citgo, another for WaWa, Chevron etc. shyts retarded.

My man said Royal Farms and Wawa...
:wtb:

Cost per mile is still generally way cheaper than gasoline, more so with home charging. Most people should be able to get to 80% charge overnight. If you drive less than a 150 - 200 miles a day, you won't need to pay for public charging. There are also additional savings with electric vehicles because most of the maintenance items associated with traditional engines aren't required for electric motors.

However, until the charging infrastructure is dramatically expanded, having an electric car can require some planning at times. If you value the convenience of fueling up on a whim and within only a few minutes, we're still many years off.

I’ve only charged to 100% 4 times for a few long trips. Even with the “charge at off peak times” setting the car has never failed to get to 100% overnight every time.

also, I thought the lack of a network was overblown (I have 36 supercharging ports within a few miles from my house) until I was leaving an airport a few hours away from me one day after a long trip. I had 5% (I know you’re never supposed to get that low). I set the navigation to bring me to the closest supercharger which was 15 min away. I’d make it there with 2%.

it wasn’t until 8 miles into my ride that I noticed I was going the wrong way. Tesla Nav UI is hot garbage. I did 60mph with no heat, no radio. Nothing. And barely made it.

Not even sure what I would have done if I ran out of juice.

Does Tesla come out? Do tow trucks have chargers?

Pay $20 to charge your vehicle or $80-$100 at the pump? You choose

also my electric bill only went up $23 bucks a month..
Is it your only car and if so do you find yourself missing the feel of and engine and an exhaust note…. Or if you have a gas engine auto additionally to you miss driving it when in the Tesla?

I got free public chargers in the liberal neighborhood across the street from me and I just go park my Mach-E over there if I need a fast charge.
For long trips I use the superchargers at the Walmarts along 95 and have never paid more than $12-15 to fill up.
You don't need multiple wallets either, atleast not with Ford.
You just plug in and Ford will charge you with your credit card on file.
Other companies like Porsche give let you charge from free at the superchargers
I did get the $7500 tax credit this year, it pulled me out the red:whew:
