it was NEVER about being cheaper than gas breh...it was about the environment...most eletric engines are only 190-250 mile range as well and thats with out AC, wear and tear, etc. which lowers it even lower than that. Its definitely not the value they are hyped up to be. Possibly slightly cheaper than a gas vehicle at moderate gas prices when everything accounted for.
They used to give a HUGE tax break/refund for getting one though (like $7500 or some shyt) not sure if they if they still do that. That was a major drive in sales a few years ago
and when you think about THAT....its not really helping with that either unless you're using solar, or hydro....because otherwise electricity comes from the burning of coal....which....fukks up the environment....so we right back where we started
