The cost of a Florida state ID card is $25, plus a $6.25 service fee charged by most local tax collector offices

So you mean to tell me since I had my state ID since 16 to my age now mid 30s, that there's a mf'er that ain't got $31 fukking dollars to get the same state ID for nearly two decades?????:mjlol:
How hard is it for you to understand that your situation doesn't reflect everyone's? You're using the same logic that justified poll taxes in the past. They were small amounts too, but they disproportionately affected marginalized communities. It's similar with these ID laws, especially when you factor in other barriers like intentionally closed DMV locations, time off work, long wait times, and so on. These aren't just minor inconveniences, they compound the problem and make it harder for many people to access their basic rights.

Why are we even arguing this when that type of fraud is almost non-existent anyway?

Of course you live in Florida. :scusthov:

Like, think about it like this: If voter ID laws are genuinely about securing elections, then why isn't there more demand for a national ID that guarantees every legal citizen access? Imagine a system where each citizen automatically receives a secure, government-issued ID at 18, at no cost, which also registers them to vote. This would ensure that no one has to overcome unnecessary barriers, like finding a DMV or paying fees, just to access their constitutional right.

If the true intent behind voter ID laws is integrity rather than exclusion like supporters claim, then shouldn't we support policies that guarantee universal access to ID?
Would you be in favor of something like this?

So what is stopping people from voting several times?

That no ID thing in America has always seem insane to me.

In PA, you need your ID if you're a first time voter or if you've recently moved to a new poling district.

You give your name when u go in.

In the districts book of registered voters, your name appears there next to a blank box.

You then sign your name next to your printed name (your previous signature is also there, but upside down sonthe polling people can compare them).

The give you a paper ballot.

You then put your own ballot into the machine and it gives you a green check mark if it was inserted correctly.

I guess technically somebody could say they were me and sign my name... however when I myself goes in to vote, they'll realize somebody was already there = fraud.

Also, my district has the same lil old ladies and 2 guys for every damn election. These Super Karen's know lol.

Also, I check the website before I go to vote to make sure I somehow wasn't purged from the book. And I take 2 forms of ID just in case somebody wanna act stupid.
