It's hard to name a rapper that is in Wayne's category.

Y'all seem to overlook the fact that he singlehandedly created the version of Hip Hop that's popular now.

How many rappers are "Lil" something? The hair. The face tats. The overall dusty, junkie vibe. The autotune singing.

Not to mention. You could have a radio station play Lil Wayne songs for 24 hours without any repeats. He's got the deepest catalog ever. Lots of mix tapes, but those projects are considered more classic than some of his studio albums.
The age of rap is now is a joke and not making money. Laughable. Being decimated by Adele, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, and of course Taylor Swift..someone even the NFL is bowing down to. Lil Wayne is begging for NFL halftime shows while Taylor Swift basically turned the commentators on Monday Night Football her personal cheerleaders.

I assume you were there for his massive run?

By the way. I'm no Lil Wayne fan. I respect his work ethic and he's got some killer verses out there. I even really love a few joints of his. Go DJ for instance. But overall I was sick of hearing his voice at the time.

I had a younger cousin who told me he just listens to Wayne all day every day. It was inescapable. Never seen anything like it before or since.

I just listened to Tha Carter III front to back. He didn't catch up to 2Pac.
