Did Rick Ross Actually Win His Beef With 50 Cent in Hindsight, or Are We Witnessing More Revisionist History?

50 won in the long run and is still making prominent moves so it’s yet to be seen where he ends up. But it doesn’t seem like anything he’s doing is on a downturn.

He might have faced an unexpected outcome in the Ross beef but still very relevant. Officer Ricky is doing well for himself but he needs visibility and exposure to not fade into obscurity.

Ross absolutely won. It honestly was like 50s karma from past beefs. 50 had all the material on his side. Officer Ricky was a classic hilarious 50 diss song. He was exposing him as a correctional officer and messing with his baby mom. None of it mattered cause Ross was just on fire at the time. Very simular to Irv showing the order of protection paper work. Didn't matter people didn't care. Or how Dblock bodied 50 on wax but 50 was hot so it didn't matter. When Ross did Mafia Music remix with 50s emimies that was the death blow.

50 did arguably the most disrespectful chit in hip hop history to Ross by having his son around. Only for Ross to comeback and lie talkin bout him and 50 bm got something coming.

50 showed them niccas they can be touched and made Ross break character being scarred.

Ross best friend gets his ass beat and robbed.

But people saying Ross won because he made better music :mjtf:
No, 50 claimed out his own mouth that he was gonna end Ross career.

He failed dismally at that and saw his own career decline instead.

That's the L.

Nobody had ever had their career ended by a beef. That is what you call hyperbole

Aight, fukk it

In beef, in conflict, in closing whatever you want to call it 50 won that shyt by a landslide. That Pimpin Curly shyt was fukking hilarious but…

In music, in entertainment value of music Ross murdered 50 and that’s it. nikkaz who was listening for the MUSIC and didn’t give a fukk about the outside beef knew Ross killed him.

I can honestly say that because I was that nikka who didn’t listen to Ross at all because of his bullshyt “persona” but when him and 50 started going at it i listened and was like :ohhh: at his music because that Deeper Than Rap album was :whew:

shyt made me eventually (and I’m talking about until God Forgives I Don’t) had to go back and check his catalog to find out he was dropping gems back then. shyt the only reason I even paid attention to the beef was because I was like “let me hear 50 roast this nikka and we won’t have to hear from again”.

People(especially on this site) equate ross surviving and thriving after everything as him "beating" 50 even tho we can go down a list of disrespectful shyt 50 did to him but cant say what exactly ross did within the actual beef that hurt 50, and I say this as somebody who thinks the swaggerless munkey rants were hilarious but it wasnt moving the needle like that.. and the baby mama suing happened years after the fact

even from a diss track perspective 50 got him, mafia music was a great song but only 1 bar out of that whole 4 minute song addressed 50 but nikkas on here act like it was "hit em up"

its like saying drake beat pusha because drake continued to succeed and pusha isnt doing anything noteworthy even tho pusha bodied him

its simply the fact that after all the Ls 50 handed him he managed to not go under and actually elevated through making successful commercial records while 50 personally struggled to maintain musical relevance, thats the only reason nikkas run with the "ross won" narrative

Your assessment of the situations is all facts.

However whoever "won" rap beefs subjective at its core. 50 had better diss tracks but overall Ross stepped his game up musically while 50 struggled. Ross fans were rewarded with better music and Ross created more fans from the beef whereas 50 fans got less music and worse music.

Those 50 disses toward Ross were largely overlooked in real time. He even dissed Ross on songs on BISD. It didn't matter because people really didn't care. All of the taunts and disses that worked against 50's other opponents were lost on Ross because 50 was a non-factor at that point.

According to 50, Def Jam wanted to take down the Interscope machine.

50 and Ross were just pawns in the Major Label's game of chess.

This is hilarious since everyone involved in the rap game has claimed that Def Jam nearly went under at least 4 different times

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Rick Ross dropped over 10 more years of music and opened a successful franchise (Wing Stop)

Curtis faded away and had to modernize the image of Tupac in a Business Suit, with a show called "Power" that was a last-ditch effort to keep his name in the media.
Only on the coli would a nikka having 8 successful shows and spin offs be seen as an L
