Rewatching it now, I never realized how much of an idiot Vegeta was in the Cell and Buu sagas. He was dope as a villain and his Namek run was :banderas:, but after killing 19, Vegeta was nothing but trouble after that. Dude made EVERYTHING worse :mjlol:

I also started to realize how badly Yamcha got screwed over. I didn't know what filler was at that point so as a kid I thought he was legit shining against the Ginyu Force and Olibu :snoop:

I never realized how useless the Supreme Kai was. Dude was millions of years old and still didn't realize how Potarra fusions work :gucci:

A lot of people want to big-up the Japanese soundtrack, but :patrice:
Kenji Yamamoto (the dude who did the original Japanese OST's ) got exposed for plagarizing nearly every song on those original soundtracks.

Peep those first two examples and notice how they straight jacked their whole sound when Future Trunks pulled up...

All Yamamoto did was bite :wow:

SMH, Yamamoto only did Kai's OST and one insert song in the original series. Shunsuke Kikuchi did the original soundtrack and he didn't bite

Why?

This nikka is technically biracial:mjpls:

With all the chaos that led up to the Cell Saga there was nothing more that Gohan wanted than to just live a regular ass life.

Goku didn't know shyt about living a regular life as a kid so him just chilling inside a house with his grandfather dead and nobody to take care of him seemed normal to him.

And in reality that's not too far for from the life he would've lived if he were raised with the saiyans.

Gohan was exposed to what a normal human life was supposed to be like then suddenly all of that is stripped away from him at age 4.
I was about to come in here and say this, and along with that, the saiyans went around destroying planets under Friezas control. Gokus arrival to earth and upbringing is part of why he is how he is and comes off as "shytty". Saiyans are a warrior race, their whole being is centered around fighting. Genetic killing machines, he was sent to Earth originally to destroy it but bumped his head and forgot who and what he was. He has very little upbringing period as he accidentally killed Gohan and was then raised by Master Roshi who mostly trained him to fight. He basically has the mind of a child and is mentally undeveloped. Other than the fight, he doesnt know much else, its almost all he knows. Vegeta is also a full blooded saiyan but was raised and educated by his royal family. Goku was an adopted country bumpkin.

:ohhh: I guess I was misinformed then. My bad, breh.

I'm reading that Kikuchi did the OG series while Yamamoto mostly worked on Kai, the video games, and a few of the movies.
"Battle Point Unlimited" (the song that originally played when Future Trunks first pulled up)was a straight jack from Propaganda though.

Kikuchi never bit, so I'm not accusing him of anything.

Well yeah, that's what I mean. Yamamoto was the composer for Kai and the video games but not the original series. Your first post implied he was the composer of the OG series, but he wasn't.

Continuing my rewatch now that I have some spare time again. The show became a bit of a mess in the android and cell saga. The characters decision making is next level bad during these arcs compared to the first 105 episodes, which is the point where namek explodes. Krillin just doesn’t alert anyone when he finds gero on his way to the lab :dahell:. Piccolo instead of warning the androids early on about cell chooses to fight 17, which lets cell know where they are :francis:. Neither android tries to escape when they’re repeatedly told to get away, even after 17 gets absorbed :snoop:. Krillin then destroys the remote to shut down 18 and Vegeta tells cell to go absorb her :gucci:. To top it all off there’s Goku giving cell a bean :martin:. Krillin is definitely the LVP of this whole arc. If he used common sense, 17 & 18 both get destroyed before they’re even activated and cell never gets either of them. The plot should never be driven forward by bad decision making by the protagonists. Also the site where I’m watching seems to have changing recordings of the voice acting for some reason.
It was just as messy in the Frieza saga.

- Goku letting Frieza live, allowing him to come to Earth which is how Cell got his DNA
- Krillin and Gohan wishing Piccolo to Namek as if he could beat Frieza
- 5 minutes until Namek explodes
- Goku being able to hear King Kai and Kami's conversation about moving everyone on Namek to Earth
- The start of ridiculous power scaling

1. This ties into him being a nice guy who tries to show someone the error of his ways. The dumb thing here is having Frieza survive the blast and the planet exploding instead of just sending his dad to earth solo looking for revenge. His dna almost certainly has the same traits.

2. This was dumb, but wishing him back in the first place at least made a lot of sense. Pretty sure they were still hoping to avoid fighting Frieza.

3. 5 minutes was ridiculous :heh:. They should never have said such a small amount of time.

4. I don’t think it’s beyond the realm of possibility that he could have learned how he communicated telepathically, but they should’ve at least explained it first.

5. This was too ridiculous, I’ll agree. Ginyu maxed out at 120,000 but base form Frieza is already at some 500,000.

There was some absurd shyt, but I can make do with these since the plot isn’t at any point advanced by the good guys intentionally not doing something that would solve the problem right there on the spot, which is a recurring issue of the next saga.

:ohhh: now that you mention it.... goku was telepathic on namek :deadmanny:

And never showed this skill again the entire series :deadmanny:

And if I remember correctly, it was implied that the reason he could do this was because he was ssj

But no one else ever showed signs of being telepathic

World didn't blow up and he ended up starting a family with that

Meanwhile Gohan watched his future wife get stomped the fukk out, trained with the gods, went back and still got the Earth destroyed :mjlol:

They wished him there so he could see his home planet. Also Piccolo could beat Frieza as he fought even with her second form. Before they knew Frieza had forms, base Frieza would have gotten worked by Piccolo.

They found another planet and wished themselves all there before the android saga. They wished all the friends back and then used the last wish to get themselves to the new planet.

vaguely remember this but it's been a long time. That was one of those filler eps like the one where Goku and Piccolo went to learn how to drive right? :hhh:
