@Axolotl posted a thread here not too long ago talking about Naruto becoming a self-made hypocrite, which got me thinking. I've seen several threads talking about Naruto becoming trash after Shippuden, but I'm sure other posters here are still fans though.

Did the series ever fall off for you?

The first part was fire to me, but I stopped messing with Shippuden awhile back.
There's still a few things I have to give Shippuden credit for though...

1. They still had some great fights. The animation got crazy on a lot of those scenes :wow:

2. Naruto curving Sakura and wifing Hinata at the end was a W. Hinata was ride-or-day from day one. I'll give Kishimoto props on that. :salute:

3. It gave black characters shine. When Killer Bee gave Sasuke and his squad the business :banderas:

Naruto was ruined when the theme of the series was turned upside its head and Neji's philosphy was proven right after all. Naruto should've stayed some random kid and not a descendant of ninja royalty

Also as the series wore on the use of training and skill evaporated in favor of powerups on the fly. Watch the Zubuza arc and then something in Shippuden and it's like you're watching a different show

Rock Lee was the realest character in the whole show. He was the only one who truly had to grind in order to become great. Consequently that's why he became an afterthought

Rock Lee and Neji's relationship was basically a better version of Naruto and Sasuke's with more depth and heart.

Neji was that dude. A true genius and humble at the same time. A real Konoha elite. To this day I hate the fact that they killed him off.

Around season 2 I just stopped....I was done so many times though.

-Ninjas...really turning out to be samurai's.

-Rock Lee, the baddest muhfukker, goes full blown Akuma, and it never happens again nor do they even give him any spotlight.

-Naruto suffered from the protagonist curse in all of anime....except that, he's a living god....quite literally.

-Killed of Jiraiya, probably the move that had me drop the manga for a while.....they tried the same with Kakashi, but the fans weren't having it.

-Infantile writing. To me, this is the biggest problems with manga/anime. A lot of these guys didn't take one class of writing. Not that you should, but you can tell these guys are too self indulged on thinking about whats "cool" and less about what makes sense. Toriyama was victim of this very thing...except he basically just made it fight fluff anime. The Sasuke arc was probably the worst writing in anime history. All that Naruto went through, Orichimaru living on through Sasuke, and eventually it all culminating to them being friends, was probably the biggest fail ever. So Naruto doesn't get with Sakura, even though that was bae for two seasons, and she then proceeds to marry and has the baby of the dude who was going to kill her and the entire village....
The shyt right there, is just too dumb.

-Killing off Neji - So basically, anyone who deemed cool by the fans, died. From Jiraiya, to Asuma. I get that this is basically the imaginings of a guy who never took a writing class, but his beta is showing.

So many more, but this is the crux of it. Bad writing + Sasuke being the Mary Sue/Big Bad/redeemed tortured soul.

Kishimoto is basically a nerd who hates anything martial arts, but is forced to incorporate it due to head writers and producers. Dude killed off/crippled every major martial artist on the shown...

Neji
Jiraiya
Guy
Rock - crippled plot wise.
Asuma
Haku.

Basically, if you could throw a kick better than the Magic users/Samurai, you're never given an arc or die.

When it became the Naruto/Sasuke circle jerk I checked out. Also, Neji dies but Sakura lives? Couldn't tolerate that foolishness anymore.

fukkING THIS.My Goat :to: They gave my guy no character development going into shippuden and then killed him off? Air Palm?:camby:That soured Naruto for me.

Son was second only to Sasuke imo and that was only because he was the anti hero. Still an iconic anime but fell off for me.
Also fukk Sakura and anyone that love her:pacspit:

The minute Pain revived everyone was when it started to fall off, the kage summit arc was garbage did a lot of damage to everyone in team 7 bar Kakashi.

Naruto’s character never ever recovered from this imo

I absolutely loved the 1st part when they were kids and you learned about every clan in the village and what they brought. The issue occurred when the plot moved away from the village and showed a bigger world. I won't say it fell off...I mean I will but I think the story had to shift focus on Sasuke and Young Uzi. I think they OD'd the Sasuke shyt though. It was too much man and got to the point where it seemed like the manga/anime should be renamed.
Pein reviving everyone was some bullshyt too. Naruto's friendship no jutsu got tired. The issue was the show only had 1 true villain and they completely changed him also (Orochimaru). Jiraya dying hurt me something awful man and I still get the feels about that...I need a minute...

Man I know somebody will agree with me when I say this but there should be a spin off show about kakashj and his generation coming up through the Ninja ranks cause they were clearly more talented and most of them way more powerful
Kakashi is the most likeable and interesting character in the whole series to me and they really made him seem like a badass and a bytch all at the same time
