Did LL Cool J really best Kool Moe Dee or did he just reap the benefits of being the younger artist? | @DadBodRapPod Podcast

LL reaped the benefits of going from hood to hood smashing the baddest joints.
Kool Moe Dee got busy with him lyrically but overall his sound and look was getting outdated. Let's Go is crazy on paper but people were tired of that sound.

When you're sending shots the track has to sound hard. Even Ice-T addressed deading his LL beef on a hard track.

After Jack the ripper you know what Moe Dee did?

Moe Dee was that nikka in 1989

To the break a dawn came out two years LATER ...two years of DUCKING Moe Dee at every public event cause he knew he would lose face to face and his career would be over :mjcry:

Moe Dee basically let him live they spoke LL was gonna make a record and then Moe Dee to finish it.....that was it Death Blow

Moe Dee had been out since the 70s him getting out of the game had ZERO to do with LL...it was just his time

This "Kool Moe Dee was on his way out the game" is false as fukk actually... in fact, the whole time period when this battle was going on, Moe Dee was making the biggest hits of his career and going thru a resurgence after being off the scene for a couple years. This is when "How Ya Like Me Now", "Wild Wild West", "They Want Money", "I Go To Work", etc were getting airplay and he was going gold and platinum for the first time in his career.

LL won by making better records and ultimately outlasting Moe once Moe started burning out around '90/'91.

fam all you have to do is listen to the music that started coming out...

...Moe Dee still had that Kurtis Blow type voice/flow...
...Rakim, KRS, LL, BDK were the cats that were taking things in a new direction.

Moe Dee had hits yeah...but he reached his peak by that point

I was also around then. That really was the golden era. This is all facts. Jack the Ripper was in HEAVY rotation everywhere. I am a huge Moe Dee fan. But LL was just too much as far as the total package goes

yea like that time loverboy drake beat pusha-t

I did say usually.

Obviously that was a major time that didn't happen. It can be argued Jay had more female fans than Nas as well but Jay didn't really crank it up on that end until he got Beyonce.
