:rudy: trues arent made baggy, they just sagged them to make them look like that.

Max B fight with Jim Jones - YouTube

true religions are baggy..unless you get the slim fit or whatever their name is for them

theyre meant to be loose, and have the flared out cut for boots...which are the most popular type of their brand

I sorta agree with the t/s because i was in high school when jim jones started rocking this rock star look. But now everybody is dressing like curren$y and wiz khalifa with this streetwear/hypebeast style. All i see now is khakis, cargos, jordans, and pick any random brand off of karmaloop lol.

True. But also remember in those days the west coast outside of Game was a complete no factor. Just like the Jamaicans or Europeans who also wore fitted gear

lol. who remembers that episode of "run's house" where diggy wanted new clothes?

his mom str8 said "he wants the jim jones look". and this was like '05-06. i think before "ballin" even came out. diggy was ridin that "diary of a summer" wave.

Heard some dude say that that style was already in effect with the yardies and dominicans in new york, dipset just ran wit it and made it national.

truth is, most of these trends and slangs that rappers blow up, werent actually started by a rapper. they usually get that chit from people in the hood and blow it up nationally.

with that said, this thread is on point. whether it was stack or jim, either way its byrd gang that changed the dress game for most people in hip-hop culture. stress the word most because im one of the people that never wore that sorry chit.

I give Cali its props for its influence NOW. But at the time they weren't influencing anything in hip hop.

Kanye and Pharrell were also way before the trend. But I don't think it became standard hip hop/hood wear to dress "whiter" (for lack of a better word) until Jim Jones and Juelz and then Wayne got on it. Check those DJ Unk and Soulja Boy videos, they weren't dressing like Kanye...

Then the skateboard thing took off very shortly afterwards and black kids in middle school were walking around with boards that they didn't even know how to use. And Cali should get full props for influencing that

Thats how I recall it...

I heard the same shyt, like Stack and Max got the style from yaadmon n dem and Jim ran wit it. smh, I swear Dipset the strongest force. Between Cam and Byrdgang, the rap game was changed forever.
