Not really.
The more I play it and the more I think about it, the less I like it. For as huge as the map is, it's pretty disappointing to have 1 city, one countryside, and then a gigantic mountaintop comprising all of it. Like
@Tech said above, San Andreas' map was smaller but it
felt bigger and more distinct.
I'm at the point where I can say I don't really like any of the characters. Franklin is "too good for the hood" but is barely doing anything about it, Michael has it made but hates his family and is going through some midlife crisis that I'm supposed to care about because...?, and Trevor is a walking meme. He's funny at first but it wears thin.
They brought back elements from San Andreas only to utilize them in lackluster ways. Stats are back but none of the activities to raise stats return, nor does your body change depending on how you take care of yourself. Burger Shot and Cluckin Bell are in the game, but you can only restore health by eating candy bars at a corner store?
The police are WAAAY too aggressive in this game to the point it becomes detrimental. Why bother thinking of creative ways to commit crime (or just not giving a fukk) when the police swarm on you instantly like flies to shyt?
For a game centered around heists, you make all that money and have NOTHING to spend it on. No casinos, no kind of gambling...nothing. Playing the stock market? Please.
And I'll never get over this: the cheats are trash. You can only be invincible for 5 minutes then the code deactivates because the devs couldn't figure out how to disable trophies for as long as you had cheats activated? That's anti-fun.
Online is trash but you already knew that.
6 is gonna have to do better for me.
