Exactly. When was the last coup attempt in this country? How many people who go to battle for gun rights actually depend on said weapon to feed their fam and not for sport? lol assault weapons ban is basically a ban of "evil black rifles". you can still own one under an AWB, you simply cant go all out and accessorize it with folding stocks, pistol grips, bayonet, flashlights and such. the actual gun parts that are necessary for shooting at things are not banned. it's like telling people they can buy a car, but not if it has off road tires and a racing stripe.
AS a country we have no fucntional mechanisms in place for the identifying and treatment of the mentally ill and I am quite sure that old DINO c*nt Dianne Feinstein won't be offering up any bills to address this issue.
Because all her appearances on all the talks shows touting this assault weapons ban legislation is going to do is increase gun sales. I wouldn't be shocked if this old bytch wasn't bought and paid for by the NRA because shyt like this is the best advertising they and the gun industry can ever get.

i just find it interesting that in a time period where the US is quickly becoming a surveillance state with questionable laws being put in place everyday, that a string of gun related incidents has broken out perpetuating the debate of gun control.
