Dev Says PS4 Will Out Power MOST PC's For YEARS To Come

My laptop cost more than either of the consoles
I own and that sh1t can barely play fear and dead space.

It isn't a mac either.
My dedicated gaming consoles >>>> my pc's.

I'm not even against PC gaming, but this idea that every body is
dropping stacks on their PC's is bullsh1t.
Anyone with common sense knows the "Best of the best"
gaming PC's represent a very small number of consumers
in the huge world of the PC.

this is what im saying

they really do enjoy the process of building the pc over the games themselves

realistically only a handful of games are better on pc

the rest are push's

and to get supposedly better graphics you gotta spend upwards $500+ more than you would spend for the same console for slightly better draw distance

man i feel bad for you..where did you buy your laptop? how long ago? because mine is 900(end of 2011) dollars and i can play the new tomb raider on normal with antialising wiht no problem..and lol at you think you need the best of th best to play games..pc gaming had a huge decline during the 2000s but its picked up rapidly due to affordable cost of pcs and the agin console market..but to say the ps4 is stronger the current day pc is hogwash...if you see the crytek demo for the ps4 and the pc the pc had better everything from shadows, lighting, details etcc

I think his point was that people act like they don't want to invest in a 'gaming PC', but then go cop an overpriced mac book, or at least own a computer of some kind

Which is a fine point but I don't think
the average consumer is buying $900 laptops
let alone PC's.

A lot of them are probably copping Dell's and the like.
Cheap options to do basic stuff like facebook and email
or play the occasional flash game.

Bought it like a year or two ago.
About $500 or so, integrated graphics card and
3 gigs of ram.

my ps3 runs Crysis better.

It's impossible for consoles to match PC's. Sorry but that's just a fact. Nothing that costs 500$ is gonna look better than the best PC's.

consoles are a closed box environment that they can optimize the software to run on. in the beginning the consoles will give PCs a run for their money but as time goes on the fact that they're closed box will work against them because PCs will continue to evolve.

why would you game on a laptop? its easier to cool a PC so the components give you better performance for less money.

i don't know what you spent for your Laptop but i got a
3570K constantly overclocked to 4.2 ghz no sweat
GTX 670
16GBs of ram
i put together this PC for about $800 and i purchased things i didn't necessarily have to buy like no normal person needs 16GBs of ram, i bought a new case when i already had one so i could have put this together for a bit less maybe $100 less. its air cooled with a pretty cheap $35 cooler to boot and that overclock is still nothing. you'd have to pay a ridiclious amount to get that level of performance outta a laptop.

yeah, but the price of a cheap dell, plus the price of console, is more or less the price of a gaming PC

that's true, but it's not enough to overcome the hardware gap with what can be done on 'top of the line' pc's

not to mention the development cycle of consoles pretty much means the console hardware will be around a year old by the time it's released. pc tech will have probably already moved to it's 'next gen' before these consoles are even released

you bought your pc for 500 your ps3 was probably 300 = 800$..and dat 800$ pc will outpeform your current pc and dat ps3 by far and think of all that money you save from steam sales

The PS3 is more powerful than most "PC's" considering the fact that most laptops sold have integrated graphics chipsets.

This is a non-story. The average gaming pc will bench the PS4/365 in less than 2 years after release.

You still on this? Since 2009 games have been much better on the PC...thats damn near 4 years already. Max Payne 3 maxed out on the PC looks like it should be a PS4 game.
