Since the PS4 has 8gb of RAM one can only assume it will be 64bit. If most of it is available to game devs that is.

Or are we talking about different 64 bits? :dwillhuh:
operating system and games are two different things

if a large number of PS4 games are going to end up being multiplatform, chances are they will be made 32 bit. if they are, they cant see more than 4GB

those of us who are running our games on 64 bit OSs are still playing 32 bit PC games because most gamers are still on 32 bit OSs, and developers dont want to miss out on selling to that market.

i dont know what the 720 will be, but the PS4 is running on a PC CPU, so it is safe to assume that there will be a strong port relationship between PC and PS4, and PC games are overwhelmingly 32 bit.

Anyone with common sense knows the "Best of the best"
gaming PC's represent a very small number of consumers
in the huge world of the PC.

I think you're missing my point as well as anyone else
who quoted me.
Not everyone has a $1000 dollars lying around for a
laptop especially when you can buy a desk top that out performs
that same laptop at the same price.

I bought a decent laptop because I didn't need a gaming laptop.
I've got consoles that were created for the sole purpose of playing videogames on top of that I get exclusives that'll never land on a pc.

Will I have to play certain games at a lower resolution ? Yes.
Will some games run at lower frame rates ? Yes.
Does that hamper my ability to enjoy these games ? No.
I'm certain I can build a $1000 PC with a good recent GPU, a
nice amount of ram, huge hard drives etc. but for that same $1000
I can buy a ton of games for sh1t I already own.
I respect your opinion, but if you are a gamer you are actually paying more in the long run for a console. Consoles have static hardware and you end up paying more for each game individually if you build up a massive collection as many people do. This is not even throwing XBOX Live into the equation.

Do you have a convenience factor? A bit, but then again realize that it only takes 4 minutes to swap out a graphics card and be good to go if you build a desktop with future upgrades in mind. My PC started out at a $280 budget build and with some quick updates will last me throughout the entire console generation with ease. Like I've told people before...PC gaming is a whole different ballgame. I am play Max Payne 3 right now with a $50 CPU and a midrange video card damn near maxed out. The beauty of it all? When I do decide to drop $70 for a cpu I can sell this one in my desktop for $30. If I want to upgrade the video card? I can drop this one for about $90 easy to put it towards a $200 card. Minimal costs to remain among the elite all things considered.

Take a look at the latest games and what they are going for right now in the market:
Tomb Raider - $23-$27
Crysis 3 - $25-$30
BioShock Infinite - $25-$30

On consoles? Even if you hit up amazon to buy them new you are looking at $160 while someone on the PC will pay about $73 for all of them AND have the superior versions of the games. You guys are so concerned about the entry cost when it doesn't have to be that way. That $87 savings is common across the board if you know how to shop.

BUT, if you are a very casual gamer...someone who buys maybe 1 game a year? Yeah it might be a wise investment to just deal with the consoles, but even then I am willing to bet that the savings won't be significant

thing about PC games though is they can be ruined by the fact that its on PC and there is so many options available, so many mods etc.

u might wanna go on and play a game and realize that everybody is on crazy unique servers playing all this random nonsense and mods and diff game modes.

console keeps a lot of games in one lane and it can make for a more enjoyable experience

other things that can happen on PC is there is gang of weirdos who PC game, lots of the rooms you enter are just hosted by some jackass... dude might decide he wants to keep killing u, or ban u etc.

dudes have all these crazy things set up on servers that can just make the game unfair and shytty aswell, so its like ur not playing against other ppl its like 3/4 of the people playing against the few mods, lames teaming up and just winning every game etc.

ask @Hiphoplives4eva

You guys have no idea how much money you are wasting on inferior versions of the games :to:

I don't see those prices on Steam though

:stopitslime:

I don't even game THAT much anymore, but if new games going for like 25 I can bite. The question is whether or not I feel like hookin' my desktop up downstairs to play it on the big screen I have.
