If Jimmy can give us more offense then he's well worth the money but we don't know if these 20 point games this year are fluke or not. He can't end up like Deng where he gives us struggle scoring nights but can't get us any when we need them.

all he needs to do - not to end up like Deng - is stay healthy and be given rest. Deng (and others) lack of scoring when we needed them, IMO was a derivative of them playing 40 mpg for 70+ games every year and through injuries (toes, leg fractures, wrists, etc etc) . Keeping this team healthy is going to be key and I think a healthy Butler can put up 15 ppg on solid shooting - while I don't see him scoring like Deng in his prime, I think he may have a better ability to "create" his own offense (although I still see that as limited).

what's so great about that , it's pure man-to-man defense (which is why he gives Lebron so much trouble).

He reaches and gets played, yet still recovers for a block. We get's in his defensive stance he's as good if not better than Bruce Bowen IMO.

The Bulls, a team we call cheap all the time, offered Jimmy 11M, but he's only going to command 10M this summer:dahell:

He could give us 14/7 with elite defense and a solid jumper and teams are gonna go :whoa:"The Bulls didn't win it all, so here's 10M:ufdup:" :dahell:

Some team isn't gonna offer him a 2-3M more this summer just to pry him away from us?

Kawhi was gonna get paid regardless. 23 year old 6'8 elite defenders that can shoot efficiently and have no problem playing their role but can step up if needed aren't signing for just 10M unless they just really fukk with the team and situation like that.

Luol Deng is a 29 year old injury prone player that has been run into the ground and damn near died a couple seasons ago. Iggy only signed for 12M a year a couple years ago and he doesn't have anywhere near the injury history Deng does.

Deng and Butler don't have similar situations at all.

You don't think teams recognize that last year he was playing 40mpg hurt on a team where Kirk Dunleavy and DJ Augustin were the teams best offensive creators?

It doesn't matter if he's gonna look like a max player. There's plenty of players signed to contracts that they look like they don't deserve, it's about what they command on the market and all they need is 1 team to give it to them.

It's Jimmy's contract year so of course, people are gonna say that every good game is a result of him playing out of his mind and he's gonna fall off once he signs the deal.

This isn't some 7 year veteran who all of a sudden starts playing well. This is his 4th year, he just turned 25. We saw the growth his second year, injuries and team makeup hurt him offensively last year but he was still elite defensively.

If we could've signed him for 12.5 per, then we messed up :manny:

We lose him this summer and we're fukked, we won't have the assets to replace him.

If Jimmy has a nice season and the Bulls have a strong playoff run, I think that they will pay him out

If his presence allows us to be a true title contender then there is no way we let him walk

hows that any different from MdDermmot who many people want to start of Dunleavy?

mcdermott only makes $2M a season and is only 22 and a rookie. there's hope he can improve. dunleavy is 34 and not gonna improve, and neither is martin. plus martin cost you at 3 1/2 times the salary of mcbuckets.

:mjlol: obviously they didn't see many bulls games last year if they even thought he'd be remotely serviceable as a starter at this point in his career :krs:

however, laker fans really can't complain about boozer. whatever they're paying him is certainly much less than what we were, so at least they are getting the kind of productivity the salary they are paying him warrants.

KC said he would have taken 4 yr. 50 million which is 12.5M on average we offered 11M with a PO.

that'll make us look stupid if he gets max offers and we match

man, that player option could have been a lick for jimmy to get paid again. I can't even remember the last time the bulls have offered ANYONE a player option. It's a shame they couldn't work out a deal for a mere $1.5M per season :snoop:
