Me personally I don't have no issues with dunleavy he was brought here to shoot and plays decent defense(like korver did) and can rebound and pass the ball. For 3 mil a year what more can you ask for

Same with kirk he can defend, hit shots occasionally and play the 1 and 2 dj couldn't guard NOBODY.Y'all take the players for granted that are needed to help win games

I don't think dunleavy a scrub, even tho I call him one all the time :heh:

I just don't think he a starter. K Martin is a elite scorer with starter talent. Playoffs is when the holes in your roster get exposed. And when you have a team with lebron kyrie and love in front of you ,.you can't afford to have holes. Dunleavy off the bench with the 2nd unit would be better imo.

If jimmy gets us to the finals and even plays a huge role in us winning it, i.e what kawhi did I say give him what he wants within reason

If not i can't justify giving him more than 10 mill.
So we have to win it all for him to be worth more than 10M?

So we let him go then have to rely on Snell being that guy?

kevin martin is as one-dimensional as it gets. and I"m not even gonna talk about him on the defensive end.

when it comes to offense, he's gonna score, and that's what he does. he's got a really quick release, so he can always get his shot off. however, while he'll get u buckets, he gives you nothing else. no steals, no rebounds, no assist, and no blocks. like he's good for 18 points 1 reb 2 ast at most on most nights.

No, we let him go, draft his successor, or use our exception next off season to replace him.

Better that, then do a loul deng mistake again, where matching a 14 mill a year deal just to keep him, his offense doesn't improve and we stuck with that contract.

Jeff green,.Marcus thorton, afflalo, all guys who are available next off season who could be had for our 5 mill MLE. Maybe afflalo might get more.

Maybe thibs can make something out of Jr smith. Idk.

But I can see Jimmy playing up to a 10 mill deal. I can't see him playing up to a 14 mill deal.

Green plays the same position as Gasol, Mirotic, Gibson, McDermott

You're not gonna get any of those guys for 5M.

The cap is about to make a big jump in a couple years, everyone is going to see an inflation in their deals.

The Deng mistake was failing to trade him when his value was high and running him into the ground, killing the value he had, then keeping him instead of tanking.

We had multiple opportunities to trade Deng for lotto picks or other good players that we needed and we failed to do so.

We're not gonna have the money to get anyone else to replace him.

We can't rely on a late 1st round pick to replace him.

:dwillhuh: come again.
Look I hate that we do this with our players. But lets be real here

Take Jimmy butler, out of our system and put him on say a horrible situation like say he playing for philly or milwaukee, do you think he would look like a 14-15 mill type of player? Now yall saying he should get paid more than not only taj, but Noah. This from a guy who all his offensive numbers were down last year and watched 2 seasons in a row vet min players come in and be more reliable offensive options than him.

So now you have a guy playing out his mind for a contract, and we acting like we never seen the story of a guy playing out his mind of a contract year, then regressing once they get they dough. Yea that never happens....

So again, if he plays out his mind to the point it gets us past the cavs, okay cash the man out. If we go home 2nd rd, we can't hand that kind of deal over to dude.

look, if jimmy shows the ability to consistently get his own offense and attack the basket and get FT's like he has in preseason and tonight, you best believe he's gonna get paid more than noah and gibson.

Put Jimmy in Philly, he's still a great defender, still attacking, getting to the line a bunch, probably wouldn't have any injury issues because the coach wouldn't be playing him 40mpg.

Put him in Milwaukee and everyone is :banderas: over the trio of Giannis/Parker/Butler.

His numbers we down last year because he was playing 40mpg on a fukked up toe next to Kirk and Dunleavy.

2 years ago he put up 11/5/2 on 45/47% when he started getting minutes.

It doesn't matter how much Taj and Noah makes.

Noah signed his deal 4 years ago. Taj signed his 2 years ago. Noah signed under an old CBA and Taj was a 27 year old coming off the bench. Both signed before the cap was expected to go 80M+ due to a new TV deal.

We lose Jimmy, we gain no cap space from that. We're capped out for the next few years.

We're left with a late first round pick and the MLE to replace him, while still looking for the secondary creator.

What the hell is this team doing if we let him go?

People have been talking about the cap jumping for a while now, we knew cats were gonna start getting inflated deals because teams would be willing to spend more.

If we weren't willing to pay Jimmy a lot, what the market will dictate, why not trade his ass during the summer?

All it takes is one GM to give Jimmy the Max and he's gone. There have already been reports that said a GM has already said he would do it. If he was asking for 12M why not pay that man?

You know Thibs gonna run him in the ground so you gonna get your money's worth, and if somebody was willing to cash him out based on what he's done so far, you better believe if he has a good season this year he's gonna get either a max deal or something close to it.

If you're the Bulls you really gonna risk losing that guy when you know the cap will expand with the new TV deals and the other shyt that's coming down the pipeline? Ok
