Bungie pushes back 'Destiny 2' feature upgrades

The company is similarly postponing a variety of Nightfall Strike perks and exotic gear changes. Nightfall Strike Unique Weapons were supposed to show as early as February 27th, but Bungie needs "extra time" for its artists to make sure the rewards are worth your time.

There are some upsides to the revised schedule. Bungie is adding some much-needed variety to the Crucible competitive multiplayer space, with the free-for-all Rumble mode arriving on March 27th and a two-on-two Doubles mode coming at an unspecified later date. The company is well aware that its MMO-like shooter needs some refinement to live up to its potential -- it's just not willing to rush those tweaks.

I haven't touched this shyt since November probably. I knew this would happen too and i'm mad i bought all these expansions. As a working professional i just dont have time to do all that repetitive grinding shyt. Game got stale fast.

Base game is on sale right now for $16
Still not worth it. Nice to see how desperate they are, though. What they really need to do is offer a formal apology at E3. I just want to hear them say "We're sorry that we fukked up," because nobody has admitted any guilt over this shyt yet. I need to see that deep ass Kaz Harai bow from these fukking clowns.

Y'all coming back to mess with this? I'm playing Ni No Kuni 2 now, but I'm going to mess with this to get my PvP fix. I think this will be a shot in the arm for the competive playlist.

Gonna wait to see what the remnants of the community think before I re-download that mess. If it sounds promising, I'll probably come back when the Fallen Warmind drops. If not, I'll be waiting till a TTK major expansion does.

Bungie Is Adding New, Less Random Loot Boxes To Destiny 2
by Suriel Vazquez on May 05, 2018 at 12:17 PM

As part of its Season 3 update hitting next week, Bungie will be making it slightly easier for players to get the dances, ghosts, and ships they want.

In its latest This Week At Bungie Update, the company detailed a new kind of loot box system it's introducing in Season 3: the Prismatic Matrix. The Prismatic Matrix will feature 10 items every week, but will not drop duplicate items, meaning players who have ten Matrices in a given week will acquire every reward for the week. Items dropped from Bright Engrams (which players earn from leveling up) or bought with Bright Dust (the currency gained from dismantling vanity items) also count against the duplicate counter, making Matrices among the last rewards players will want to gain during a given week to guarantee the highest change of earning a new item.

In order to receive a reward from the Matrix, players will need a Prismatic Facet, which they will earn once per week after their first level-up. They can then buy additional Facets for 200 silver (the real-money equivalent). "We want to continue experimenting and evolving Eververse to improve player experience, and give more paths to earn Eververse rewards," Bungie said in its blog post.

This is part of a longer effort from Bungie to reduce to overall randomness in rewards players earn in Destiny 2. In January, it made vanity rewards a part of regular player activities, making the path to getting feel earned rather than simply gotten.

Warmind and Season 3 also bring a number of other changes, including a higher, harder-to-reach power cap. Later this fall we can expect the next major expansion, which will add a mode Activision claims is new to first-person shooters.
