All relative. For every dope artist or song it's a million wack ones.
True but the same could be said about any region that's hot and any given time. I remember at the height of the New York mixtape era there were a lot of wack mixtape rappers who never amounted to shyt. A LOT. Internet wasn't quite as popping back then, so those cats really didn't have as much of a voice as wack rappers now who only need an Instagram or Twitter page to make some noise and develop a fan base.

Ok that's more than what can be said about NY right now. :yeshrug:

Like it or not personal feelings aside about the music The south just has the formula and the producers to make music people are feeling

And I don't understand this

"Women and strip clubs control what's hot now" narrative in this thread when it's mostly dudes who are putting US women onto music lol like all the shyt I listen to go recommended to me through men

U would never know cause not even our own radio or DJ's play our shyt. shyt ASAP Rocky didn't even blow up out here. And as far as the women issue. Many DJs will tell u themselves that records break in the strip clubs now. That is a SERIOUS problem. Let's be honest. Women in general don't really give a fukk about the fundamentals of Hip Hop or lyrics or none of that shyt..they only care if it sounds good or catchy to them. Or if they could dance to it. And it's nikkas fault for catering to that crowd.

Difference is the garbage gets a mainstream push and platform regardless. U can't say the same for garbage mixtape rappers. Those were available all thruout the country as well.

Lol at the little brother big brother analogy.
Nah, it's like watching your slow relatives graduate from school because the teachers went on strike.
They have a 3.5 gpa because the standards have been driven into the ground...and they get praise because your parents thought they would be dead or in jail by the age of 18. The south is like that slow ass relative that gets a gov't check and uses the money to stunt. After a while, they'll be back to sleeping on your couch and begging for western union. It's good to see the dumb relative making it. Midwest cousin over here laughing at slow southern breh and angry NY :flabbynsick: breh...It's been our turn for like 4 years. You can hear the drill darkness slowly pushing the happy trap out of the way.
- A midwest breh who lived in NY and the South...

The whole country didn't have a mixtape scene like the east coast...they were like 5 years behind on that. Plus: Mixtapes are street driven, not girl driven. They had R&B mixtapes for them. So they could stick to what they know.

The whole country did have a mixtape scene. Not the same as NY's but there was mixtape nikkas from all over. What u sayin really has nothing to do with what I'm tryna say tho. What I'm saying is even tho there was garbage mixtape rappers at one point. They wasn't gettin national exposure like these garbage ATL nikkas. Majority of the time in the mixtape scene the best of the lot always stood out.

I don't mind that, people even go at Fab but I think he mostly reps New York and does it well, outside of those obvious southern reaches he may put on a project. You would have to hate artist from the past who always had records aimed at Cali and the South on they shyt.

I just hate New York desperateness:scust:?The willingness to push anything that MIGHT blow, and Its like pulling teeth to get cats to say something is flat out wack who has a chance of blowing....Maybe threads like this mocking them, send them into automatic defense mode of this wack shyt, maybe its loyalty to they city,if so ,say dat den:sas1:

History tells me its just a desperateness to compete though,NY has more pressure on them then other regions as the big brother.....imagine being the brother in your 30's who was once the pride and joy, first forced to watch your younger, more beautiful brother in his 20's be bigger than you,buy your mama the house, get all the ho's,get love everyhere yall go:banderas:...Suddenly the brother in his 20's is paralyzed tragically,Brother in his 30's says "We back baby:banderas:"....Now here comes his brother in his teens, not quite as beautiful as the brother in his 20's:whoa:....But he still heavy in the game, still getting more love everywhere, still getting more money and especially ho's than the brother in his 30's:damn:

Its "big little brother syndrome",the first go around, big brother lashed out with hate and bitterness...Second time around he's dangerously close to suicide:mjcry:

And uh oh,what is this?the brother in his 20's is wiggling his big toe yall:wow:

I'm from Brooklyn but this is a 5 star post. Repped for the West Coast / South analogy. Lol @the west wiggling its toe :mjlol:

That what happens when women were allowed to choose in a masculine artform like Hip Hop. Hip Hop is pure masculinity and raw opinions. When you water it down and cater to drunken thots in strip clubs, this is what happens.

Women spend more money as consumers though.....
