Its also been revealed Hou set some of these appointments up. They didn't want him to play becuz of this. Thats a suspension imo. He missed a yr out of his career over this.
But how does it count as a suspension if it was paid?

Who got more than 2-8 games based off “accusations”?That's going to set a precedent for future suspensions that I don't think the NFL wants to happen. Depending on the numbers, I'd be pissed if I were other players who have gotten suspended for less than what Watson was accused of. If I got in trouble with the NFL, I'd point right to the point situation and say that he only got such and such number of games and I should get that range as well.
Then fine him.But how does it count as a suspension if it was paid?
They can do both. Then fine him.
Man I got too many friends and fam that are browns fans. I’d be salty af but happy for them miserable ass nikkas anyways2-8 games?
Wow, we really are going to win the Super Bowl this upcoming season
As a Browns fan, it's just some things that aint supposed to happen. Winning a super bowl is one of themMan I got too many friends and fam that are browns fans. I’d be salty af but happy for them miserable ass nikkas anyways
Players get suspended all the time for accusations with no proof or actually getting charged with anythingWho got more than 2-8 games based off “accusations”?
As far as i can tell the 2-8 games based off prior precedent and actually a harsh penalty for accusations that don’t come with a video or criminal charges.
Who?Players get suspended all the time for accusations with no proof or actually getting charged with anything
Some nikkas are playing dumb as hell pretending that hasn't been the case over the years.
-Jarran Reed once got a 6 game suspension from the league eventhough he was never charged or arrested by the police.Who?
So the precedent is around 4-6 games.-Jarran Reed once got a 6 game suspension from the league eventhough he was never charged or arrested by the police.
-Zeke got 6 games eventhough he was never charged nor arrested by the police.
-Brady got 4 games over accusations and he was never charged with anything. The shyt the team was accused of was a total sham that the NFL would never admit.
-Terrell Pryor got suspended for shyt that had nothing to do with the NFL.
-Richie Incognito literally threatened to kill people inside of a funeral home and a truck full of guns and all he got was a two game suspension from the NFL.
People forget the burden of proof for an NFL is different and lower compared to the legal system and their suspension track record has never been consistent like that.
So the precedent is around 4-6 games.
And with all of those the league had actual photo or some other type of evidence.
They’ve already said they have no actual evidence of assault. Just the women’s statements.
It’s testing public waters to see the response as something worth settling on. The two sides could always come to an agreement before hand.yeah, agree on the pr aspect, there's no way they would have argued for 2-8 games before the judge (though i'm not sure, does any of that even come into play with the judge, or is it literally just the NFL presenting evidence?)
the main thing is i wouldn't put any credence in the idea that it's going to be 2-8 games from this article, which is, as you point out, PR. but it also seems like them deciding that they need other ways of trying to influence the outcome, and an admission that the evidence isn't in their favor
this strategy could be because of the unusual power the nfl holds to dole out punishment. at the same time it's just really unusual for any lawyers and unions to leak that they think their client/member deserves any punishment at all.
No.The league had no evidence at all or those players would have actually been charged with something and eventually had them dropped as has been the case with previous situations.
You can just retroactively fine him for the cost of his salary. But how does it count as a suspension if it was paid?
No.
They had photo evidence of injuries in both Zekes case and Reeds.
They had their own evidence in the brady case.
Incognito was actually convicted and had to check into a mental hospital for acting crazy.
