Yep and AB got 8 games as well. People haven't been paying attention to precedent if they think you can't get suspended by the NFL eventhough you've never been charged.

You mean the same appeal process where the final decision will be rendered by the person who helped give the suspension in the first place?
Cant he take it to a legal court then?

the NFLPA is wild p*ssy if they let that happen. I mean watson is a degenerate but NFL has no ground to stand on for a suspension.

Take it to court for what? The players gave the commish that power. It's why I thought dudes were goofy last year for insisting that AB deserved to get suspended eventhough he never got charged with a crime as that situation was always going to happen again with another player.

For the majority of NFL players, they won't feel the wrath of dealing with the commish anyways, so I don't necessarily blame them for not caring about that situation in particular.

Unfortunately, the NFL has all thr ground to stand on here. That is why some of us having been saying he'll get a minimum of eight games, if not an entire season.

The CBA gives Goodell all the power.

His best bet would be to hope that the judge that will hear the NFL's punishment to Watson holds the owners to higher standards than the players and maybe lowers his suspension or throws it out all together. Only problem with that notion is that you would potentially be creating issues in the future if players gets more of a suspension than Watson does for something less than what he was accused of.

how will the NFL suspend him if there's no criminal charges?

an appeal will get it overturned very quickly.
I think it will fall under the personal conduct policy, which results in Goddell rolling a dice on the suspension length. There's been plenty of players that didn't get charged, but were suspended for that reason. I think he gets at least 8 games, but I think he might get suspended for the whole season.

Best bet is for Deshaun to try and get 8 games from Goodell. Especially since the Texans sat him last year

The Texans chose to sat him out. The league didn't force them to do so. The Exempt List or paid sitting out games hasn't stopped the league from still levying punishment as it's exactly what they did with AB when they told teams not to sign him and still suspended him 8 games anyways.

Bare minimum is a year long suspension for Watson.

Depending on what else comes out, suspension may be indefinite.

It's a bad look for the league, if he comes back from suspension to 230 million

worth a shot for him instead of the whole season :yeshrug:

edit: there's a rumor Deshaun had Ava Devine over at his crib too a couple of years back doing their own version of Queen & Slim :mjlol:

What he'll more than likely do is make the argument that the owners should held to the same standards as the players themselves and if they didn't get punished then neither should Watson. It's a reasonable argument with the only problem being that you create the argument that QBs should be held to a higher standard than their peers as well seeing as they're essentially the face of the organization.

If Watson gets his suspension reduced or completely thrown out, then they might as well get rid of punishment altogether as everyone is going to use him as an example as to why theirs should be reduced as well.
