Florio said he should have settled last year....and it turns out he was right.

Now that I think about it isnt it sort of rare for these cases to not end in a settlement? Deshaun must have finally felt that pressure to cave in.
(again not talking guilt or innocence)

The pressure had to have come from the league as he was getting put on the Exempt List if he didn’t settle those cases before season started. He’s now put himself in a bind though as theoretically could suspend him again if any new cases come to light. That’s why it wouldn’t surprise me if the league still took their time with their decision and put him on the list to start the season.

Just heard Cowherd say the same thing.

Im thinking at best he plays 3 or 4 games. Most likely out for the year. However, that protects them from going after his money in 2023 as the money will be way more.

The league isn‘t trying to end up with another Ray Rice situation where more evidence/accusers come out after the punishment is levied and makes them look worse PR wise.

certainly possible the NFL put some pressure on him and his team to settle, maybe even used it as a bargaining chip to reduce whatever suspension they will hand him

Nahhh they probably threatened to put him on the Exempt List if he didn’t, which would make them take even more time making their decision.

I have no doubt this was a case where the league reached out to relevant parties and advised them that a punishment was coming by the time camp opens, and it would be in their best interest to start getting this wrapped up before then.

It would be tough to see him getting suspended again if new cases came out, though. It would need to be either another tidal wave of accusations, or incidents proven to have happened after the initial accusations came out, so it could be established to be a completely separate set of incidents. Otherwise, the NFLPA would likely roadblock this shyt in the most inconvenient way possible.

Coli.
During an introductory press conference after the trade to the Browns became official, Watson was asked if he has any plans to settle the 22 civil suits that he is facing accusing him of alleged sexual misconduct.

"That's not my intent," Watson said in response. "My intent is to continue to clear my name as much as possible and that's what I'm focused on."

Took a while but I see his tune changed.
:hubie: A lot of these women just want money and this nikka cheap as fukk all he had to do was pay them when they first came out and it would all be dead, all these women see him as an easy lick and if he don't pay up his ass out a job win win for them.

The league isn‘t trying to take that chance though nor should they and deal with another PR hit, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they took their time before rendering a final suspension amount.

Would’ve e made way more sense to settle this a while ago instead of going in the “I’m gonna clear my name” route.
Going that route kinda helps his innocence argument in a way. he was willin to fight it all da way to da end until it just didnt make sense financially or business wise to do so.

keep in mind all da criminal shyt got dismissed a while ago, so he was probably willin to do the civil shyt until he was pressured to do otherwise

Agreed. I think that's why they put the word out that he needs to do whatever he was going to do sooner than later, so they can at least say they made their decision based off of some sort of result from all of this.

TYRONE GA!
this is pretty much a admission of guilt

People are idiots they’ll think this means he’s innocent

I do think he's guilty of being a deviant perv using IG women and others to get some p*ssy under the guise of getting a "massage"

nikka thinks people are dumb.

Anyways, minus well finish settling and get your suspension from Roger.

He might as well settle all the cases and move on from all of this. He got his fully guaranteed deal. Throw them a couple dollars and keep it moving. The more this drags out, the worse the league punishment will be.
