Not surprised, but the Bulls have another opportunity to fine tune the roster at this point. They sat back and waited for their savior Rose last time, what they gonna do this time?

The D (where it's so cold)
If he doesn't fix his jumper, don't see how he has a long NBA career. Like Frump said, what made him special was his quickness and ability to attack the rim at will. He also needs to fix his head because I questioned his mental toughness before the injury & now more so. Hope I'm wrong & the kid flourishes, but I doubt it.

Hes done as an elite player at best he can reinvent himself into a solid role player but that explosion and first step and just overall athletic ability is what made him great without that hes ordinary

This. His MVP like seasons are more than likely probably over but even a Derrick Rose at 80-90% is still better than 90% of the current league, he just needs to work on his jumper for effectiveness but I doubt he will match any of his previous great seasons. It's sad things turned out like this, he was really putting the effort to get back but he's no longer a guy to build a team around.

Low lifes getting their jokes in as usual.

I thought with this type of injury he could be out for only 4 months and back in April? What happened?

if he came back in 4 months he risked shortening his career and permanent damage, full recovery meant entire season out

His game revolved around explosion/athletic ability.

It's going to be tough for him to try to adapt that Sam Cassell game. He's never been all that crafty, just incredibly athletic.

On top of that, he's a lil fragile mentally.Psychologically, it was a struggle for him to get back out there the last time he got injured.

His only hope is modern medicine. The Bulls should call the Suns and ask if they'd adopt D Rose for the next 6 months

I thought it was if he got the meniscus removed, he could be back in a few weeks, but if he got it reattached he would be back in 4 to 6 months - 4 months meaning he can come back in time for the playoffs?

From my understanding if you get the meniscus removed entirely it gets you back quicker, but if you get it reattached it takes you longer to return, but it's better for your knee's long term health

This sucks but for his long term health this is the right move.

We need to try and shed salary (if we can and get ready for 2014 free agents)

The tear was in the worst possible place (near the center of the knee) and estimates were really based on the average tear (which is on the sides of the kneecap). D Rose tear is likely to leave his knee bone on bone if he doesn't to the max rehab, which is moot because bone on bone will eventually happen to his knee anyway at some point.
