When is he scheduled to have the operation?? I figure he would knock it out quick to start rehabilitation
either tomorrow or Friday

sounds like it will be a cleanup or removal of the meniscus (which means he could potentially be back for the playoffs :yeshrug:)

Kemba just had his meniscus removed in late January and expects to return on March 16th

a similar timeline would have DRose returning around April 11th at home against the 76ers (regular season ends April 15th)

So he might remove it because Bulls are hoping he can still return this season.. it worked out for Wade.. ended up being a 3rd best sg.. I know Rose has more knee problems but still, even if he repairs it. Theres a chance he might mess it up again

The meniscus is a cushion between two bone. If its completely removed he'll need a total knee replacement in the future.

I wonder if he gets this surgery and comes back, if he'll just go into kill mode just because. You tried playing it safe and got hurt, why not give it everything you've got, that way if you go out, you go out going hard?

But then I think about the last injury he got from just turning around, and this one from grabbing a ball going out of play, and it seems like no matter what he does, he may tear/mess up something. :snoop:

Yea this is why I'm actually still somewhat optimistic. Westbrook went through similar last year. He opted to have his 'repaired' only to re-injure it 2 months into his return.. but after the follow up surgery he was good to go ever since. This is Rose's follow up surgery.

The ACL injury vs Philly was just bad luck/freak accident shyt.. this 2nd meniscus tear/cleanup, I kind of saw coming.. he simply lasted longer without complications than Westbrook did.

Really I'd like to know at what point did Wade have his removed? I think he said in college.. because if so then that means from '04 to '11 he didn't have it.. which is still a good 6-7 years of retaining peak athleticism.

such a bad idea to remove your meniscus. At this point he has to think about his career vs his health. Imagine going decades where your bone is scraping against your other bone. Hes gonna have osteoarthritis before hes even 50

its always that
same with grant hill playing in that playoff series with ankle issues did him in

It was NOT the same at all...Grant was actually hurt before the playoff series even started and tried to play thru his injury to show he was tough and ended up making his injury even worse....Rose was healthy and hurt himself on a HOP STEP move that he had done thousands of times and would had continue to do and still does...it was going to happened at some point it was just a matter of time of when ...it wasn't a fluke injury that started this... he didn't step on someone foot or someone fell into his knee...it was his playing style that caused this...he could have done the same move the next game in the first quarter and the knee may have gave out....dudes need to stop with the excuses of him being in the game late that caused/started these issues...

Kemba Walker had the same surgery in january, and last night, it was mentioned that he should be back in March. it seems like a lot of players are going for the actual removal over the repair.

also, it's being reported, that drose injury isn't nearly as bad as it was in 2013. so hopefully it's not as severe as initially thought.
