Denny's is closing 150 locations in the latest sign of the squeeze on family dining

I remember as a kid waiting close to an hour with mom to get seated and finally we left and she said never to go back. Only have been there two times in my life after that as a last resort.

Lol yall stay blaming social media. Their problem ain’t “young people” or social media and not being upscale enough. Because if that were really the case, why tf is Waffle House booming despite it being considered cheap, low class and ghetto.

The problem with Denny’s is that some of their locations are TRASH. How are people supposed to have a fine dining experience sitting on the edge of a busy ass interstate? In some bumblefukk ass cac area? They either gon fly right by that shyt or have a hard time actually getting into that mf. Why drive a quarter mile just to bust a U turn when I got a WH or a Chick fil A over here to my right? Lol. A lot of the diner restaurants down here in the South are relics from a time when interstates and highways weren’t a thing. When family road trips were a staple of American culture and you stop by good ol Denny’s or whoever for a meal on the side of the road.

This, and the prices aren’t really cheap anymore.

Used to be able to get two people in and out of dennys for like $15.

Now that shyt is like $50.

If ima spend $50 ima get some good food somewhere, not some damn Dennys

Even today Denny's prices are much better than most independent spots.
Grand Slam:
2 eggs, 2 bacon strips and sausages, 2 pancakes and hash browns: $17.00
Sampler: $14.00

Kind of follows trend that people are not managing their money because they'll pay $30 - $40 for the same shyt elsewhere.
Think of all the extra money people have spent and will spend when Denny's would've been simple enough

If you are gonna eat out people value the experince.

Dennys used to be rock bottom prices.

Literally used to take my wife on dates there and make it out spending like $11 total

There’s so many more better quality choices for what Dennys charges today.

The quality isn’t much better than mcdonald’s if it is at all, and you are expected to tip, pay for drinks etc, and it’s less convenient. And real talk people are going to mcdonald’s less for that same reason, it’s not really “budget” food anymore.

Dennys was the spot after the club. So many fights and hoes. It was where the after party was at.

Ngl, like 40 of us showed up to Denny's after prom just to recover from our excessive Henny consumption ....this was 20 years ago. Even then Denny's was seen as more ratchet than most spots.
