don't think it's just inflation...I think that going to these places are not seen as cool/nice by younger heads now. If it's not a more upscale place you can brag about on social media, it's heavily looked down upon. Even by broke mufukkaz.

Pretty much this.

I wouldn't say it's all clout though. Young folks just want a popping place that's upscale and fun. Only folks that go to Denny's are 60+ yr olds.

This is what the inside of a Denny's looks like. Who wants to eat here?:russ:

How come you can't get Steak from Denny's on Doordash/Uber Eats while you can in the restaurant :why:

I like Denny's so this is sad news but the fact that you can't order steak from them on food ordering apps is some BS.
Thats an issue.

They opened a brand new restaurant on Panola (Suburban Atlanta) instead of using a closed restaurant at the mall two exits down. This was during Covid. I understand politics come in to play but I still don't understand why they did that.

Place was closed in six months.

I think that's part of it. I would imagine the pandemic and Doordash have fukked them up too.

I been touring the west coast these past couple of weeks and been meaning to stop at a Denny’s. I think the last time I ate at one was in Vancouver almost 10 years ago.

Surprised it took this long tbh. I worked at Dennys when I was 19-20 way back in 2001. So long ago it still had a smoking section. It was trash then. The place was so trash that one of the cooks called out once and they had nobody to do it. So they got me the dishwasher to cook and I had no idea what I was doing

I think it's a regional thing and also depends on where you are in life. The days of students regularly going to diners are over due to increased prices. But I def see blue collar workers in there all the time, and diners remain a cultural staple in the south and Midwest. In terms of the sexy/IG appeal I will kinda disagree because I always see hoes flicking up breakfast food at diners. They may not tag the location but those strawberry pancakes in the IG pic are def from a diner lol.

The funny thing about pricing is that people will avoid going to a diner because of price increases and yet have no issue ordering diner food on Door Dash, which is nearly twice as expensive.

This, and the prices aren’t really cheap anymore.

Used to be able to get two people in and out of dennys for like $15.

Now that shyt is like $50.

If ima spend $50 ima get some good food somewhere, not some damn Dennys :beli:

Denny’s is like Cracker Barrel to me don’t go because they are a racist establishment

Back in the day there were stories after stories about Denny’s
I remember as a kid waiting close to an hour with mom to get seated and finally we left and she said never to go back. Only have been there two times in my life after that as a last resort.

Even today Denny's prices are much better than most independent spots.
Grand Slam:
2 eggs, 2 bacon strips and sausages, 2 pancakes and hash browns: $17.00
Sampler: $14.00

Kind of follows trend that people are not managing their money because they'll pay $30 - $40 for the same shyt elsewhere.
Think of all the extra money people have spent and will spend when Denny's would've been simple enough :wow:
