Thought this was shockingly pretty good.

It was basically a poor man's heat at the end of the day but it was entertaining as hell. Sure it was cliche and been done before but it did everything well. Good action, good characters, nice twist.

Personally loved the ending and it elevated the film for me.

This was Gerard butlers best role/performance since 300 easily. He was great in this. "Hug me,it'll save us a fortune in therapy bills later" :dead: he reminded me a lot of a prime Mel Gibson in this.

This will be a film people discover on Netflix/hbo and really enjoy.

Facts! He had that 90’s badass/a$$hole shyt down to a science. Mel mixed with a lil John McClain

THE movie did well at the box office
I wouldn't say well but it definitely over performed it's estimates. Curious to see if it has any legs. It also only opened in 2400 theatres. Pretty low theatre count. It had the highest average $ per theatre of all films this weekend

Most places were saying it was going to make $5-7 million for the weekend and it did $15.

It's another example of critics and audiences being world's apart

It already made back 60% its $30 million budget from overseas presales alone so this is icing on the cake the studio only expected $9 million

Studios do not get all of the box office. They get about 50% domestically and less than that worldwide and the budget doesn't account for marketing.

Realistically the film has to make at least 70-80 million to be profitable.
