When trump was talking about "opening up libel laws" against the press? When the Republicans and trumps newly emboldened crew suggested that any anti trump protest was or should be illegal?
When one in his camp just this week stated that the fbi should investigate all the protesters?
Why the trump imagural committee is effectively blocking all inauguration day protest through control of permits?

Would not those have an effect on freedom of speech/freedom of assembly?

i wasnt on this site yet when he said that and if i was, i would have promptly cracked down on him. i dont like hillary, but i think trump is worse. he is adding incredibly ill-informed people to his cabinet and i even attacked him for it in a thread i made about his secretary of state nomination. but that doesnt mean hillary should not be criticized for what she said. the lesser of two evils is still evil. a crackdown on fake news definitely butters my biscuit and it should butter yours too. we should put pressure on BOTH parties to uphold the constitution and not give Democrats a special pass just because they arent as bad as republicans.

I was the main vocal opponent against Hillary for a year and some months. Brehette, I got so much hate for speaking out. In a way, I'm glad she lost. The woman is a straight savage. Black people need to do like Hispanics and get BOTH parties to listen. Because as of right now they are the powerbrokers The Black vote in my opinion hardly means jackshyt anymore

-obama made most of bush's tax cuts to the 1% permanent
-under obama we just entered civil war in yemen with saudi arabia, a country we shouldnt even be allied with
-obama continued our drone program which, according to the govt, kills civilians 90% of the time
-obama did not push for a public option when dems were the majority in congress. he instead settled for obamacare, a system based off a plan by the Heritage Foundation in order to appease the health insurance companies he took money from during his campaign for office

..................but none of that matters. hes a democrat .

Criticism of the democrats doesn't mean endorsing the republicans at all

There's hundreds of threads on trump and we're all in agreement that he's an ass and a fascist

However, how many threads are there on the DNCs attempted suppression of the media?

The democrats have gone without criticism for long enough and people blindingly defending them are responsible for why the party is it the way it is today

Well brehette, she just joined last month. However, we have to hold BOTH parties accountable. Trump is putting up Sessions as his AG and other demonic people in his cabinet. The point is, we can't let either take the Black vote for granted It's sad, but as of right now imo neither party cares about us. I was here when Trump wanted to stop press from criticizing him and I admit that was wrong. The Dems want to do it and that's wrong. Really, it's a violation of the 1st Amendment.

You're making of the mistake of thinking we have a choice. Being a black Republican basically means you don't care for your own people because they actively push policies that hurt the most number of blacks and actually would prefer if we don't even vote. A party that courts the racist vote is incompatible with a pro black mindset. Not voting is basically a win for Republicans because they'd prefer you not vote anyway. So voting Democrat is the only choice... for now. It's not fair but tell me a time in history where this country was fair to blacks.

No its not. Do you actually think democrats care about you because of the issues you face? they care about you because they are addicted to identity politics. they realize that minorities will soon become the majority and they want your vote so that they can continue to be more powerful. thats it. how are democrats pro-black? one second they tell us that they want to help black ppl be more economically independent and then next thing you know, they take money from corrupt institutions like Goldman Sachs and ExxonMobil and do their bidding while spitting in our faces. . we need to get out of this mindset that EITHER party wants to help us. the best thing we can do for now is to vote for progressive independent parties in order to force the two major parties to cater to our needs.
