There is no argument. They could have ignored the parliamentarian if they wanted:

the precedent is there.

brudda, you keep talking about the parliamentarian. I am telling you the Dems didn’t have enough senators who wanted to increase the minimum wage.
Show me where republicans have passed non budget items in budget reconciliation?

The minimum wage is not a federal budget issue

The larger point is that the federal minimum wage is not driving voters to the ballot box. I don’t know why y’all think Americans care about the federal minimum wage,

Ask yourself this, what would donald trump or republicans do if a republican senator refused to go along with a major party platform that trump ran on?

:patrice: bully them on social media until they conceded, and if that didn't work he'd have his MAGA base primary them.

You still failed to answer what Dems/Dem President can do about this. I shouldn't have to say that Trump style bullying doesn't work for Dems. Too many conflicting interests and Dem voters aren't authoritarian like that.

Nothing, just like they always do.

Because why would we expect anything more when Democrats are in power. :unimpressed:

Another non-answer as to what they should actually do :unimpressed:

I agree, that's my whole point.

You're still not answering the question of what Biden or whatever other Dem president can do in that situation.

There are a lot of things I fault Biden for but he didn't get to choose the makeup of Congress.

Brudda, you brought up the parliamentarian as a way to counter a few of us said the Dems do nothing. The onus is really on you.

Me personally, I woulda called out Manchin, Sinema and whomever else and attempted to bully them. Biden probably was incapable of that since he is sundowning.

fukk outta here. This man said he gets things done.

You're missing the point here - whether it's because of the parliamentarian rules or lack of votes, there are certain policies - like minimum wage hike - that a Dem administration just can't realistically pass given the makeup of Congress at the time.

People keep complaining that this stuff wasn't implemented but have nothing to say on how exactly they're supposed to get these policies thru Congress.

Biden didn't even push to have mininum wage increase at the forefront( in fact he pushed them to drop it) after lying to his constituency that he would get it done. At least with student loan forgiveness he pretended to get something done. A presidency with a ton of failed major policy points.

Hey at least israel got something out of it

These are the same guys who responded to Manchin and Sinema sinking the Democratic agenda with "would you rather that seat be filled by a Republican?" :unimpressed:

Then turn around and blamed progressives and leftists for not being realistic. :unimpressed:

I'll assume for the sake of argument that Dems could've just ignored the parliamentary rule completely if they wanted to.

What exactly is Biden or whatever other hypothetical Dem president supposed to do about this? Clearly just telling them to pass it doesn't work.

They expect Biden to wave a magic wand and change things.

:jbhmm: IMO The problem with Democratic voters, supporters, and even the Democratic politicians themselves is that they are not engaged enough in holding their politicians accountable. They need to demand that elected officials align with the party's goals, or else face primaries. This isn’t bullying; it’s simply political engagement.
