I vaguely remember them doing that. Was so long ago. The main thing I remember was they had this one type/brand of popular headphones that knocked, but had a reputation for shorting out after a few months. Those headphones cost like $40 which was a lot for headphones back then. It wasn't a name like Sony either. It was some offbrand but they knocked on a walkman. You could only get them at Radio Shack. I remember listening to the Alkaholiks and then eventually the right side of the headphones stopped working.

I think I know what headphones you were talking about. Them shyts HIT, but it would they would always short out at the worst possible times. But they wouldn't even have the decency to fully short out, and they'd do that bullshyt where they'd work if you had the cord juuuuuuusssst right. Had a breh out here looking crazy trying to tape cords into the right spot.

I spent so much time and money at Tower Records back in the day. You could stay there for hours listening to new music or checking out magazines.

Tower had the game on lock back then and this was at a time when record labels and retail were EATING off of CDs.

The one by Lincoln Center was my shyt and the once on Sunset was an absolute destination along with Amoeba.

Virgin in times square.

Only went there once when in h.s. but the atmosphere was somethin else
They had free concerts and stuff there too.

I remember watching TRL on MTV back when they moved the studio to Times Square and thinking that had to be the spot when I saw it through the window during the broadcast.
