Yeah, i know about RR. The left side retail area of the hotel Penn used to be the Sports Authority when i worked there

Music Factory was everywhere. I would go to Fordham, Fulton ave or Jamaica ave just to find a single

Yeah IAR is done. A new school popped up in it's place

Ohh yeah. J&R Music & Computer World across from City Hall

Service Merchandise

Montgomery Ward

K&B Toys

McRae's (sold off and rebranded as Belk) they had better inventory as McRae's though.

Toys R Us

Bonanza's (it was a buffet style steakhouse that my parents use to take me to a lot in late 80s and early 90s before they went out of business in my area)

Western Sizzlin' (another restaurant, it's still a few of them around in other states but the ones around my way went out of business)

K-Mart

Sears

The rise of Amazon, the Internet, and a changing consumer has kinda been the death of those brick and mortar department stores most of us grew up with. I remember when those shopping malls were the place to be, you could go buy clothes and get fresh, meet honeys, eat, and even get furniture and home items. Now a lot of them look like abandoned ghost towns especially in comparison to 30 years ago when I was kid. I remember I use to live to get the Christmas catalogue from Toys R Us and Sears back in the day to circle the items I wanted to give to mom and dad so they could inform Santa Claus.

Hold up...you listed... Service Merchandise, Montgomery Wards, Bonanza and Kmart.

You got to be from Michigan..?

SAN ANTONIO SPURS NY DIVISION
Freddie's clothing store....

I remember after they got burned down in harlem, they started closing up...

There was a real pushback against what was starting to unravel in harlem

That whole 98-2001 NYC era:mjcry:

I don't know where yall grew up, but here in Queens we had these little stores that used to sell suitcases, bags, backpacks, umbrellas, etc. and they used to come through with the X-Men action figures, these stores were the MVP of the 90's :wow:

Back when I was a kid I lived in Corona, 80s - 1995

Junction blvd, jackson heights, astoria, steinway, flushing main Street, all them spots used to be lit for a kid in the 90s. Baseball and basketball cards, super nintendo games, jerseys, you name it. My older brother had a connect on main Street that used to hook him up with movie theater posters, that's where I got my Dream Team poster from 92'

:wow:

Louisiana.

My mom and dad use to stay taking me to those places on the weekends. Sometimes I'd get lucky and they'd get me a video game or a cool toy.
