Not even about respect breh, it's my favorite movie of all time and I have legitimate reasons for that. I love Goodfellas too and I'd rank it above Godfather 2 but Godfather is above it in m eyes

Ah that shyt..yeah I agree, that's a cop out. But I guess it's kinda like my personal feelings on some movies: I like Tango & Cash more than Vertigo (as in if they're both on, I'm watching Tango & Cash) but I know what the better film is

But yeah, I would watch City of God before I would watch Godfather 1 or 2. shyt, as far as gangster movies, there's a slew of gangster movies I would watch over Godfather 1 & 2.
I'm in the minority, but Godfather movies just aren't entertaining to me. It's the same with Breaking Bad. shyt was a chore just to get to Season 3. And people say that's one of the GOAT series
Different strokes for different folks. I could stand Godfather 1 but part 2 hit me like a tranquilizer. I was in a state of deep slumber.

na goodfather 1 and 2 were better, people might watch good fellas cause good father movies are legit bout 3 and shyt and it does alot of character build up and moves slower
but when its all put to together its probably the greatest movie ever, it takes more a focus to get into godfather. good fellas is a classic also tho, the characters in godfather alone>>>>>>>

godfather builds a WORLD.
how many characters do we really follow in goodfellas? henry, karen, jimmy, tommy... and then after that it's supporting characters.
with godfather you got vito, michael, sonny, fredo, connie, tom, clemenza, tessio, kay, luca brasi, sollozo, carlo... i mean the list goes on and on. it feels like such a huge world. these are all classic characters.
i mean with godfather you got a movie WITHIN a movie. the michael in italy stuff is fascinating. shyt is EPIC.
and the score... the beautiful, beautiful score
plus compared to goodfellas it's so much bigger of a story.
goodfellas was about a bunch of neighborhood crooks. godfather was about BOSSES. in godfather we get to sit down at a meeting between the HEADS OF THE FIVE FAMILIES. how much bigger do you get than that???

micheal sending rocco to kill roth on his dead beds was some 
next level boss shyt, but showed u how fukk up of a person he was, he had total disregard for his people man, people that were loyal to him to a fault, how he threw clemazs family to the bushes was just movie is to fukking deep

i love goodfellas but i dont see how the two moves for close, micheals rise to power was crazy, if micheal first wife would have survived he might have been a different person
