Real shyt why did we add Staten Island :russ:
shyt not even Staten Island wants to be part of the city considering how many times they've tried to secede :mjlol:

shyt is literally closer to New Jersey than it is to any of the other boroughs. You gotta take a fukking boat to get there if you don't drive. Just transfer it to Jersey already :mjlol:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
It's because the city of Atlanta is actually pretty small. Population only like 500K - that's how most cities are. But NYC is so huge, dense, and insular that it's silly for anyone outside of the city to claim it.

Think of it like this - in NYC, we refer to Manhattan as "The City" while Queens, BX, BK, and Staten are the outer boroughs (And indeed, New York City was originally just Manhattan and south Bronx until the other boroughs got incorporated in 1898). For Metro Atlanta, ATL is Manhattan and the surrounding parts within the perimeter are the outer boroughs.

NYC is just such a clearly defined city that the "politics" of cities elsewhere might be harder to grasp.
Hmm makes sense.

If y’all count the whole Metro as Atlanta then y’all city has 6.1M people. :russ:

I don’t see how places that don’t even resemble cities just a bunch of country suburban sprawl how can that be considered part of a city.

:francis:

So you ain’t even from Georgia

About 90% of rappers that claim Atlanta, aren’t from there. 1/2 of Outkast (Big Boi = Savannah) isn't from there.

EDIT: there’s an entire channel that sometimes does documentaries on Atlanta. Here’s one video that talks about this post.

Atlanta just like Oakland. Everybody in the mainstream who claim Oakland ain’t born and raised there.:pachaha: Too $hort lived in L.A. until age 14, Pac from Harlem, Spice 1 from Hayward, even none of the members of En Vogue really from the town either most of them from Frisco. :why: Even the most popping local rappers who rep Oakland been exposed for not being from the town at all (i.e. Joe Blow). Seem like all of the rappers who are actually born and raised in the hood in ATL or Oakland super local and too hood for mainstream success. :stopitslime:

BX, NYC

I’m not which is why is why I don’t see how shyt that in no way resembles a city, an urban environment can be considered part of a city or that person can claim the city

Y’all function as strictly a metro if that’s how it is

DC is also a small city but they don’t consider people from the DMV as being from DC and they stand on that

The NYPD patrols both boroughs so I’m assuming the APD patrols Decatur?

Also isn’t Watts a legit neighborhood in LA? @getmoney310cpt

Because it’s a metropolis so every county has its own police force on top of the different individual city police forces. In terms of public safety I imagine it’s just easier to have one giant police force because NYC is more dense than anything. They jurisdiction would be crazy if it was like other cities.

Dekalb county and it’s individual cities cover that and parts of Atlanta they overlap. Just like the other immediately surrounding counties.

shyt stupid. i just googled decatur to atlanta and that shyt says its 17 min away. that shyt pretty much atlanta.
Breh, everything Atlanta nikkas say isn't Atlanta is right outside of it; like damn near connected. Marrietta, Jonesboro, Vinnings, Smyrna, Decatur, College Park, all that shyt right by Old National, etc...all that shyt is Atlanta. nikkas just want to be able to say they are from the city limits (downtown, pretty much). I stayed around those areas for years and unless you were born and raised in Atlanta, everybody called everything I named Atlanta

i have a hard time getting what is meant.

what city do you list with the zipcode to fully let people out side know.

that is how i am gonna ask this for people unfamiliar?

is this stuff like if we was in chicago.

it is the wild hunids.
which is chicago.

then it is harvey, dolton danville. etc...as far as burbs and they are not considered the city.
yet given credence for being hardbody tho.

out west..
place like maywood and bellwood are burbs but considered hardbody but not the city but still the city tho but not the city tho.

so is it more like the maywood bellwood situation for a chicago person to understand.

or is this more like harvey dolton outside the wild hunids type of situaton to grasp.

I’ve been to Decatur and Decatur is a nice ass town. I’m from Chicago and it’s essentially like our Oak Park and Evanston. An inner ring, upscale, street car suburb.

Yeah, I pulled those photos because that’s how Decatur looks. :heh:

Yeah Decatur may have a low end (which I hadn’t seen) but it couldn’t possibly be a substitute for “the street” that some of these rappers like to give off.

Name me one city that's all slums. :gucci:
