Motown was behind the times when Debarge came through. Their second and third albums would have been way bigger had they made videos for I like it, All this love, Time will reveal and Love me in a special way. shyt they could've even done a video for Who's holding Donna now from the Rhythm of the night album. Barry left a lot of money on the table with that group. :snoop:

It actually upsets me. They struck gold and literally just said,"oh yeah, check these siblings out..." Thank God people were checking for them.

Don't get me started on Switch not touring:picard:

They did lowkey did drop the ball. I can only think maybe cause they were on subsidiary label Gordy records and not fully on Motown. So the label didn't bother investing a video for songs I like it, All this love, Time will reveal and Love me in a special way. Even that might not be s reasonable excuse cause new edition was on a smaller label and got multiple videos going back to 83. Honestly we lucky we got the "rhythm of the night" video because the group was already in fighting and doing drugs. That only happen because Motown wanted to push El solo career and was the lead single for the Last Dragon movie soundtrack.

Yeah I'm thinking Motown never really had plans for the group like that. They were probably cool with just eating off of their publishing.

I thought they owned their masters but I read somewhere that Bunny sold them way back. Could be hearsay tho. I really hope they own something

I'm glad more people are starting to see just how messed up Motown became. Imagine letting The Jacksons leave just because you want to pay them extra as song writers. It actually was a blessing because if they stayed then they never would've worked with Gamble & Huff.

Nah. as soon as they signed to Motown they signed over everything and were put on salary. No production royalties no nothing.
Those royalties could have helped them out:wow:

Now they trying to live off El while slandering him

They were amazing writers. Especially Bobby and Bunny
