Also I noticed all off-season Rj was pretty quiet . Now I know why huh?

yeH I’m not feeling that trade at all . The fact that it was close doesnt make me feel any better . The jazz saved us from ourselves. I guess Rose rarely isn’t trying to build around the youth
RJ just been working on his weak ass game and chilling with his litter of dogs relax :mjlol:

U wanted Donovan Mitchell for nothing? Y’all mfs crazy

I'm not trading 6 first-round picks, RJ and IQ for damn near anybody tbh. For that price, go see about KD first.
Durant is 34 and it’s unknown if he can even play 60 games in a season at this point :skip:

RJ and IQ are expendable pieces and again if you want a star you have to give up picks it’s just what it is. Most of those picks will be league average players and some won’t even be that.

whats the move after you get donovan, cause a 3 headed monster of jb, randle, and donovan clearly wont be it the next 4years in the east....then you already emptied your cupboard and have literally no way to trade for an upgrade
the cavs have garland and mobley as main stays for the future....as much as you gassed iq you talking expendable...as much as you gas grimes.....and hate on rj. THEY AINT GARLAND AND MOBLEY... and thats easily more left over for them to compete in the now and the future
our offer was above and beyond reasonable and that bytch ainge spited us....and grabbed a 2 picks after mitchells contract is up and 2 swaps after its up.

Woj:

That's RJ, Quickley, Fournier, four Unprotected first-round picks, 2 first-round swaps, and 2 second-rounders.

And the hold-up was on top five protections for one of the first-round picks.

Mitchell over KD? That's some thirsty shyt breh. If I'm trading a package that locks the roster in for the next four or five years, I'm going BPA :manny:.

Honestly…ask the Knicks. They the ones who wanted Mitchell this bad. If you want to give up all that for him you live with the consequences, one of them being that your team will be depleted.

….but they didn’t do the trade so :yeshrug:

They gotta find a taker for Randle. Just open up the room for Brunson and RJ to be a focal point with Obi starting...plus you can bring back Melo for a farewell tour :manny:
I do think Randle gets traded or RJ positioned to play heavy minutes with IQ, Obi, and Reddish. Thibs should NOT play guys more than 32 minutes a night. I think the end of last season when the firing rumors happened it got in his thick skull he has to manage the rotation better.

Anyhow nobody probably wants to hear it now because it’s meh compared to a Donovan trade but keep an eye on Kuzma as a low cost trade target for Fournier. The wizards are a year away from having to pay him and they really should just tank, play their kids (Rui, Kispert, and Devi) and try to get maximum cap space in 2024 instead to get Beal a partner. Kuzma would bring most of what they want Fournier to bring like stretching the floor and being able to attack mismatches, plus his defense is good enough they could use him and Grimes to mostly hide Randle defensively again like in 2021.

With Thibs his success from 2020-2021 came not from talent but the fact he was basically running two different lineups. A grit and grind starting lineup and a bench that was based around a three guard offense. The issue was the grit and grind starters rely solely on Randle for offense. I think the Knicks could do that again but potentially better. Basically they could run a better version of that defense, but not have to rely exclusively on Randle for offense. Knicks aren’t the most talented but they should be a team opponents rest their stars against if at all possible. Knicks went from the best defense to the sixth best defense and that isn’t going to cut it when they don’t have a star. They need a top-3 defense and that means hiding Randle on the weakest forward every game. Also RJ, Randle, and Brunson might be too clunky to not mix it up with other guys.

RJ won't ever be as good as Donovan, Quick becomes expendable because we'd already have Brunson/Mitchell/Rose on the roster, the draft picks could hurt but the likelihood is that those players won't materialize other than to be average replacement level players. In the Carmelo trade the picks ended up being Romero Osby, Quincy Miller, Dario Saric, and Jamal Murray. Only Murray has materialized into a major player in this league and he is only a fringe All-Star level guy.

It's a trade I'd make and you'd still be able to keep Obi/Grimes/Reddish as key prospects with Rokas coming over, plus don't we have 9 FRP's over the next 5 years we would still have 3 FRP's after the trade. If the Knicks are going to trade for any All-Star level player they going to have to come up off them picks.

Obviously for the Knicks the next move would be to move Julius.

it aint about draftin the fukkin players. its about having some picks left over to trade to build around mitchell. if you lose picks AND players while we already are at a talent deficit how the fukk are you gonna build around donovan mitchell as a #1 on a title team
This reality you wishing for is unlikely as fukk. randle aint doing shyt for us nor would he fetch much for him.
them weak ass protected picks aint shyt and wont fetch us a #2 for mitchell. theres a reason why ainge aint want them. OUR picks are valuable... the extras are JUST FILLERS in bigger deals. You aint swinging a deal for an all star with them weak ass picks belonging to other teams...without our picks being involved.
shams said straight up.... we'd only have one of obi/grimes left in the most ideal version of the trade on top of losing 3 unprotected.....so we'd only have one of our most valuable picks...which we wont be able to touch for a long ass time, hypothetically grimes....around randle and brunson and you talking with a straight face like we competing for shyt in the east and having the pieces left to pivot for a real upgrade? get real man. and cam??? cam????????? cam aint shown me enough for me to even think about him as the future going forward

The proposed trade I'm seeing is RJ, Quick (substituted for Grimes), Fournier, four FRP's and two SRP's...

So the Knicks would still be able to have Obi and Grimes+the other guys like Reddish, McBride, Sims. I would be banking on the potential of Grimes, Obi, and Reddish mainly. I would look to trade Jules and just get some depth pieces back at this point in the NBA we see that nobody is really untradeable. Under that proposed trade the Knicks would still have a good amount of FRP's over the next handful of seasons where we can find some diamonds in the rough as we've done before.

That aint enough for an all nba player. mitchell hasnt even made one all nba team and that wouldnt be enough to get him.....so how are we building this team.
