That is exactly what happened. Lakers had Randle, Lonzo ball, Jordan Clarkson, and Brandon Ingram. Then they traded Kuzma in the Westbrook package. They got their Championship and now are mad they got to pay for it.

It does match up with what Alan Hahn been saying. Knicks never dreamed about including him in a trade but were working on his extension. What's interesting is the Knicks were ready to extend prior to Monday but it was RJ camp trying to hold out for a bigger payday.

Makes sense now that the Jazz initially asked for RJ and Robinson prior to them signing their extensions.
