Quickley is that guy
Can Quickley be that guy throughout the whole season and not just last 20 games of the season when the team is already out of it and the intensity and pressure is way lower?

Biggest indictment on Thibs is IQ never getting a true shot at starting PG while Burks and the offense floundered.
If I recall correctly IQ didn't do too well running the point in Summer League and then followed that up with terrible first 10 games of the season. I think Thibs was done with him at the point after that.

Nah, Quick played the point well in SL averaged 7.8 assists per game he was orchestrating the P&R well and pushing the ball real nice chemistry with Toppin and Sims.

Quick had a rough start to the season but Thibs trigger was too premature. Quick also lost his shot at some point midseason. Hopefully next year is a more consistent year.

It’s no coincidence though all our best lineups contain him

That’s one thing about the NBA once they put a stigma/label on you it’s hard to shed.

Quickley has been pigeonholed since draft night.

The crazy part is that I think heads are starting to turn toward his improved PG play but they're sleeping on his defensive play too. He's quietly played all of his metrics into starter-quality territory and yet nobody even considers him...our FO and coach included. The only benefit is that he probably stays out of trade scenarios because stigmas and reputation run league-wide.

Brooklyn
its not rj fault he plays the vast majority of his minutes with the players that fit his game the WORST
Breh gets built up as a future franchise player and now it's cause of a weak PG he hasn't looked particularly great? :heh:

He’s still 22 yrs old and 6’6. He definitely played better last year

What the hell is Donovan Mitchell at 6’1 playing shooting guard gonna do?

We know what Mitchell is gonna do

He gonna take a whole bunch a shots and not lead the Knicks anywhere..

bro shutup. having no pg, terrible spacing, and playing the slowest pace in the nba since he got to the nba does him no favors.
you look at basketball so simplistic. ask the average nba player to grind out possessions with dog shyt spacing while being guarded by teams best defenders nightly and expect them to be a beacon of efficiency. is there a lot rj can work on? obviously...but being guarded by the best defender while attempting to be a stopper is something literally only 2-3 players can do on a night to night basis

an improving rj being guarded by teams 2nd or 3rd best perimeter defender is gonna make the offense look different naturally

No he didn't. Get off IQ nuts. That nikka stunk the 1st half the season and didn't start to play well until the all star break. His inconsistency was bad as Randle.

you gotta relax, mitchell has proven himself too much to diminish him for being 6'1 lol
you dont end up the #1 seed in the west on accident as a teams best offensive player. he's a baller and he hasnt hit his prime yet.

You want a 6’3 PF?

You nikkas claim to be Knick fans and watch basketball but want to give up mad picks and young role players for nikka that is 6’1 that plays the 2, takes alot a shots and plays ZERO DEFENSE

You nikkas are baffling

Dawg said he hasn’t hit his prime yet :mjlol:

Is he gonna grow 5 more inches :what:

You could simply use Steph Curry as an example. Wiggins was trash playing in a team with no pg. He played like an all star next to Curry.

My hope is that Brunson brings RJ to that next level caliber player where he gets the recognition and meets his new salary.

My problem with that, is that the team cannot grow with Randle wanting to be a point guard as well instead of being a Draymond Green or Pat Beverly type defender/playmaker and shutting the fukk up with his sassiness bytchmade antics.

Nobody will look good, not even a Donovan Mitchell as long as he's on that court. Literally, no one.

comparing an elite perimeter player to a position where you need size and to bang is two different things. he's heavier than the average two guard, more explosive than the average 2 guard by FAR and has a wing span longer than the average two guard. so your comps mean very little. he was a plus defender and fell off.
this is like saying draymond green is too small to play center...............when he does it at an elite level for going on 8 years now.

I think the role 6th man is just his future and him being a better defender/distributed helps that.
