Hahn follows my line of thinking…

U have to get relevant first. All these people talking about Brunson and Mitchell won’t win a championship.

It’s Captain Obvious shyt what the Knicks need most is relevancy and consistency.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

That is that Melo trade thinking that led the Knicks to nowhere. You can't give Ainge 10 - 14 players for 1 guy. Don't blame the FO blame the Wolves for overpaying for the lesser player Rudy.

Odds are the knicks will revisit this trade once the guys they got in FA can be traded.

Nothing wrong with the Melo trade.

If I could I would do it again.

That trade is only looked at through a negative lens because of the Knicks bad luck.

Had we not done that trade we would have truly gone nowhere.

A shot after a single season Amare with young players that amounted to not much more than role players was where it was at :whoo:
People have some bizarre memories of that Carmelo trade. The Knicks had their best record in like 15 years, 2 years after that trade happened but they act like it destroyed the team :heh:
Amare declining rapidly after 1 year did more damage than that trade did
Phil Jackson making absolutely abysmal move after abysmal move as team president sunk them even further

I am not going back and forth with you.... but enjoy these gifs from the League that encapsulate what Ainge is trying to do to the knicks

It’s not about Melo it’s about the principle.

That player could have been Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Deron Williams any of those guys in that era that requested trades.

Melo stans are WOAT either way :manny:

Ainge not raping us we have the leverage.

He is not taking our entire youth core.

He will get his picks though nowadays players like Dejounte, Gobert, and Holiday commanding 3-5 picks. :snoop:

Ainge wanted everything, and the Knicks gave it all before to get Melo. You got to hold onto some depth. No one here is saying any of the rumored guys are a dealbreaker, but 4-5 of the youth and 5-8 of the draft picks going into 2029 is too much.

I don’t even blame Ainge for trying to pull it because the fukking Timberwolves let him violate their team for Rudy.

We didn’t give it all. The Melo trade was fair.

Giving up Gallo, Chandler, Felton, Mozgov, two firsts and a second for Melo, Billups, AC, Balkman, Williams is a fair trade. We got the two best players in this deal in Melo and Billups.

Ainge ain’t getting 4-5 players and 5-8 picks :birdman:

That Billups is the second best player in that trade mentality is what fukked the Knicks up the most.

Shouldn’t have resigned him, and then they shouldn’t have amenestied him right after. That Amnesty had “Amare” written all over it.

That is what Ainge wants and he is notorious for holding out. I honestly think there is a chance this trade is essentially dead for now but the media wants to keep dragging the Knicks for clicks into it.
